5.0 out of 5 starsInteresting characters, cliff hanger
Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2018
The author explains this is a prequel to other books she has written with a hell theme. I have not read any of these so I was starting fresh. It was a slow start, and I put it down a couple of times. But then interesting characters started to appear and the H started to grow on me. I felt I was getting a lesson in the Bible... The God and Lucifer are brothers? But I was happy to realize I had attended enough Sunday School lessons to figure out who was who. The author makes you wait until the very end to find out who Chris' real mother is and what a doozy! I did not realize this is a clif hanger or I would have delayed reading it until the rest were released. I will probably get the next installment.
This book was soo good that I didn’t want to put it down & woke up earlier than I usually do to finish it.
Chris was brought up believing that he’s the AntiChrist except he didn’t have any powers. Well, other than the powers of drinking & seduction.
Isoabel comes from a family of powerful witches except she doesn’t have any powers. She does however wield a great sword. She meets Chris when she goes to pay her respects to a recently deceased friend.
This is the beginning of Chris & Isoabel’s relationship. There are plenty scenes where he tries to get into her pants & gets blocked in this book though. I will definitely be reading the next book in this series.

4.0 out of 5 starsReading my way back to hell with a smile and a sigh...

The POV for Lazy Son is even snarkier than Hell's Daughter; I enjoyed that perspective. The family around the heroine is perhaps even more odd than many in a story by Ms. Langlais. A loving, quirky to down-right strange family is one of the things this author does best. In this book as well, she continues to excel in her portrayal of unexpected personalities and unusual events. Combining the strange, unexpected and usual results in a book that is fun to read and entertained. I laughed, snickered, and snorted.
As a fan of her work since the early "Cave" days, I will wait until this series is complete. The Cliff Hanger ending is a personal disappointment. As a reader with high reading speed, I prefer to read the who story at once not be hanging on an incomplete thought for months. Personally, I find this trend in publishing right now to be frustrating if not manipulative.
I realize lots of authors and publishers are working the market this way. And I'm committed to buying author's I read, not just through KU. Going forward I will make sure the item is a complete story, meaning no more pre-orders. Ah well. Click and learn.
Being back in this version of Lucifer's reality is a long-awaited joy. If you haven't hung out here before, the Princess of Hell series might make a much better start. While I will pick up this series later.
I love Eve's books and this one was no exception. I noticed that this book seem to be leaning towards becoming a cliff hanger. I hope this does not happen in her other books. Once you read her books it's almost guarteed that you will buy another. Please Eve...don't leave us hanging!
5.0 out of 5 stars... has written a story that makes me laugh and sucks me right in to the story

Once again Eve Langlais has written a story that makes me laugh and sucks me right in to the story. Christopher and Isobel have such funny interactions that I can't stop reading especially when you know their backgrounds. Isobel a witch descendent of a line of powerful witches and Christopher son of Lucifer, the antichrist. I highly recommend this book to anyone that loves a good laugh with an excellent story. Can't wait to read the next book in this series!!
