The second in the Ellindale Series is a great read set in the 1930's. This part of England has been hard hit with no jobs, hungry kids and men willing to do a one day job, in order to earn something for their families. Finn becomes part of the community, and is instrumental in helping give milk daily to the kids, jobs to women who have to support their families, all the while being a nice guy. This is an entertaining series with 2 more books coming along. "One Special Village," due 09/06/18(only found on amazon.uk) and the final book "One Perfect Family," (no publishing date yet). If you are a fan of Ellie Dean's Cliffhaven series, these books are for you. Any reader interested in village life in the years between WW1 & WW2 will love reading "One Perfect Woman"(first book) and this current choice "One Kind Man,". Looking eagerly to the next installment.
It was a good read but it keep going back to tell people what had happen in the other books ALOT. I feel that could have been done in the first part of the book before the story had begun. A brief comment of what had been going on but over all a good read. I like the characters of Finn, Beth and Reggie.
Loved it, could take out some of the crude language. The women didn't talk like that nor did gentleman talk like that around women. It's n o t like that now, but it was when I was young. It's a shame it has to be added to the really good stores. I blame it on the editors, they have nothing on there mind but selling books. Not decent language.
5.0 out of 5 starsA compelling, satisfying feast ideal for getting away from the pressures of life..

Having read the first book of the series, I was soon immersed in this volume. Meeting new characters as well as following the fortunes of those from the first book, resulted in another compelling read. The plots are excellently interwoven and the pace of development keeps one turning the pages. Excellent!
I love Anna Jacobs and and this was great too. Her family sagas are rich in characters, detail and history. I love her stand alone books but even more I love her series of books where you can catch up with characters you know and love and meet new ones. I thoroughly recommend so l her books.
I used to buy all of Anna Jacob's books as they were released but have found a lot of her books lately to be very much the same sort of storyline with no punch to them. This was no different. They are also extremely expensive when purchasing for the kindle so I have now started to refuse to buy them unless they are dramatically reduced in price, which sometimes happens when she has a new series of books out. There are a lot of authors out there with very good books costing a lot less than Anna's.

I really enjoyed this book, the nices thing about this book is that you can relate to the people of some of the other books by Anna, all around the Rivenshaw area. This book has some lovely characters, Finn, Reggie, Beth, Leah, Jonah, good old Sgt. Deener and many more. If you like Anna Jacobs books you will enjoy this one.
