My Rating: Four Sinfully Sweet Stars****
Great Read! This is my first time reading Frankie Love's work but it certainly won't be my last. Saint Jude is a cute, well-crafted, fast-paced, easy to follow contemporary bad boy romance with a clearly defined his and her first person narrative. There were a few minor boo-boos but nothing that distracted me from the story. The dialogue is smart, well executed, at times seductive and witty with loads of little innuendos and flows effortlessly. The characters aren't complex but they are realistic and completely engaging. Did I like this story? Yes, very much! Would I recommend it? You bet and I am but only for adult readers. Will I read this author again? Absolutely! Was I entertained? Totally! It was a very satisfying feel-good read! No spoilers from me but if you're looking for a quick, sweet read filled to the brim with a little danger, some heartbreaking angst, a whole lot of heated attraction, fiery passion, dreamy romance, and steamy sex, along with two young adults finding forever love with someone when they expect it least, but need it most, then Saint Jude is definitely the book for you.
Twenty-eight-year-old Los Angeles indie film producer Jude finds himself in quite the pickle. His drug addicted model girlfriend has just left with another man. Now that in itself might not be so bad but she left him with their six-month-old daughter, Etta. Oh my! What's a guy to do? The best he can, of course....because he loves his little girl, which, incidentally, may not actually be his little girl. Oh no! He certainly doesn't want his business spread around town but he needs a babysitter fast so when his best friend Holden volunteers the services of his wayward twenty-two-year-old college dropout sister, Catalina, he knows he has no choice. But Holden's sister Cat is so much more than she seems with problems of her own, but she definitely seems to be good for him and his daughter, and not to mention she's absolutely beautiful and very easy on the eyes. It wouldn't be too terribly wrong to have a quick hook up with his best friend's younger sister, would it? After all, it's not like they would fall in love with each other or anything, It would just be a one-time thing, right? We'll see!
