I adore this story; in my opinion, Callie is one of the best characters that Sarina Bowen has written to date. I love Hank too-he has a ton of humor and heart. His story feels so authentic and tugs at my heart in all the right places. Falling From The Sky is firmly on my rereads/re-listens shelf.
I love the way Sarina Bowen is always able to write interesting life issues into each of her characters’ stories. She does this so gently with Hank that his issues are seamless within his romance with Callie, which is just awesome. In the story, Callie helps Hank discover that he can still function in many parts of his life that he thought he lost while she works on his long-term rehab and physical therapy team. SURE they fall in love and SURE this is an ethics issue, but this only serves to make the story that much more interesting.
A sidenote about the audiobook: Tanya Eby and Aiden Snow are exactly the voices I imagined for Callie and Hank. Exactly. I almost squealed when I first heard each of them read their parts because I felt like they matched the Callie and Hank that I had created in my head to go along with this book.
