The Undercover Rock Star is a well written prequel showing us how Cameron and Brandon met and started their relationship. Both men are likable and as I said the story is well written, it just didn't do it for me for some reason and so it was just okay. I think it was perhaps because of the sexy times. I've read a gamut of different heat levels and "bedroom" activity styles and enjoy them all to varying degrees. Brandon and Cameron are both very Alpha male in the bedroom and they were constantly vying for control and the sex was rather aggressive because of that. Now it totally worked for them. It wasn't violent or anything like that by any means. It was consensual. They both enjoyed the tousle as it built up their arousal, it just simply didn't do anything for me. Maybe if there was a variety of sexual encounters this wouldn't have fallen flat for me, but it was a short story, and short stories only have so much time to get the basics covered. Now, I do have the second book Branded, which picks up where The Undercover Rock Star leaves off and I'm looking forward to reading it and hoping that because it's longer and more fleshed out that it will speak to me a lot more. Just because this particular installment didn't work for me doesn't mean it was bad, or at all unenjoyable, or that it won't work for others, it simply just didn't do it for me. I recommend you give it a shot and see for yourself.
I loved this book! I love her style of writing! I read some of her books from another series Radical Rock Stars & I have all the books & only have half of the 4th book & book 5 to read! I loved how Cameron Douglas & Brandon Bullet are together! I like how they are instantly attracted to each other & do not mind that the other knows it. I like how Jenna set up this book! She did it again larger than life characters & a world I get lost in while reading! I have loved all of her books so far & will definitely read more & will finish up the other series I am almost finished reading! I would recommend this book even if you do not like books with the rock star theme because most of the book is just Cam & Brandon together.
This is my review of the audio book: Where does The Undercover Rock Star rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far? I like this story, but it is more of a prequel for the series than a fully fleshed out story. It does make me want to hear the next story in audio. I want to experience Cameron and Brandon's relationship's growth.
What about John Solo and Nick J. Russo ’s performance did you like? I only have a couple of books narrated by John Solo, and I think he does a good job. I have other books on my wish list performed by him. Nick J. Russo is one of my favorite narrators, and I have listed to him several times.I think they do a good job together here in giving Cameron and Brandon distinctive voices.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting? Yes, and I was stuck in traffic during my commute so I was able to listen to the majority of it in one sitting. It made my frustration with the other drivers more bearable.
Any additional comments? I received a copy of this audiobook from the author in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed it enough to purchase the next story in the series.
I was given this novella in exchange for a honest review so here it is.... WOW! I love Jenna's writing style. This novella and first of the series was explosive. Brandon Bullet is a famous rockstar. While in Rio with his band he meets Cameron Douglas who is an accountant that has gone to Rio for the weekend to hopefully get out of the funk he has been in for months. The two are drawn together in an amazing attraction. The sex is Hot, and the two men who are both aggressive in their love making appearing perfect for each other. But the weekend is not enough and Brandon invites Cam to their concert. Hoping to see each other again doubt creeps into Brandon's mind when Cam's phone has been disconnected. Will they find each other again? Is there a future waiting? Excited about the next sequel in this series. Loved it❤️
Spoiler Ahead This was a good book that I didn't want to end. Cameron Douglas took a short vacation to get him out of his funk after a break up but it appears he only traded locations. While sitting in the bar he meets Brandon Bullet the hot and sexy lead singer of Bulletproof only he doesn't know who he is and Brandon likes it that Cam doesn't know who he is. Cam and Brandon have instant attraction to each other and although Brandon is being vague about his last name and what he does for a living Cam is not giving up. This was a short quick read I have read this author before and I love her writing. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
This is the first book I have read by Jenna Galicki and it was a quick, hot read. Cameron goes on vacation to get out of his funk. When he meets Brandon he stirs his interest and wants to get to know him. Brandon can't believe his luck that he does not recognise him. He wants someone to care for him not his rockstar image.
I enjoyed this story. I loved the chemistry between Cameron and Brandon. They compliment each other well. My only complaint was that it was a fast read and I wanted more. I look forward to the next book in this series.
This was not only my first m/m romance but also my first Jenna Galicki book. I really liked the dynamic between Cameron and Brandon. I can't wait to read the rest of this series! *I read along with the book while listening to the audiobook* The audiobook was really well done. I would love to get the rest of these on audio as well.
