It’s Valentine’s Day in Amethyst, Illinois, and Stacy just wants to eat her pizza, watch a chick flick and lounge with her Great Dane, Thor. Her wacky aunties cast a love spell to enhance the Valentine’s experience for guests staying at the family bed and breakfast, and all hell breaks loose.
I very much enjoy this series – Stacy is a hoot, and someone I would want to hang out with. And I just can’t get enough of Thor. The supporting characters are well-drawn, the dialogue entertaining, the settings well-described, and the plots mostly plausible - the parts that aren’t, well I don’t care because the characters are such fun and the writing takes me away from where I am.
I prefer reading series in order, because I think it adds to the enjoyment factor. I ended up reading this out of order, and surprisingly, it didn’t take away any pleasure. The references to previous occurrences are skillfully woven into the plot so you get a sense that things have happened outside of the book, but not in a way that leaves you feeling left behind or lost. This was a fun, quick read. I recommend it, and the entire series, highly.
