5.0 out of 5 stars Abby Cage breaks the mold

Ok. Ok. Enough with all the kick ass action. I'm getting addicted. This series is one part X-Men'ish, two parts Star Wars without punk a$$ whining Jedi. Take the Force (on crack), add some attitude, imagination, add a bunch of alien species that make the Star Trek universe look like Sesame Street, and add a dash of toss Jean Grey and hit blend.
Sit back and enjoy the ride.
I hate finishing each book. I really Friggin do! That means I have wait to read how much Culo is gonna get kicked.
This needs to be animated in a hurry. A real life version would only get effed up.

Omygoodness! I had a hard time stopping my read to manage my life. Outstanding story. Queenie is trapped on planet where everyone wants to kill her. She finds a surprising new member of the REJECTS and the "Gift" is changing her more each time she uses it! And now Gloritant Thravens cohorts are going after her daughter, Hayley, to hold as hostage! Aaaaaaarrrrgh! Oh no! I cannot wait for the next book. I've signed up for the email list at mrforbes.com/mailinglist so I'm on notification for the next books. CANNOT wait!

Book 4 continues on and is as good as the first.
The characters especially Abby has continued to develop. If you have read the previous 3 then you will enjoy this tale. I think it could be read as a stand alone tale quite easily however I recommend that you read all 3 in sequence
Now for book 5

I'm so caught up in this series. I've read all of them and they just keep getting better and better. I say that because this is the fourth book, and it was absolutely the best of all. Not that the first three wasn't great, but like I just said, better and better. And the ending in this fourth one, WOW. I can't even imagine how the fifth one will be. But I will be there to read it, without a doubt.

4.0 out of 5 stars A glaring weakness bother me

This book reveals a glaring weakness that I noticed in book one. And no one in the story seem to notice it. I love the series, the characters, the plotline, and I will finish the series. But that one gaping hole down grade the series from 5 stars to 4 stars. Still it is a great ride, even with the weakness. It is common to many series. I think I only notice two series that didn't make it.

4.0 out of 5 stars As promised

Mr forbes promised an interesting book full of action intrigue and betrayal. He met his promise. As usual, we have a cliff hangar. Rest assured the action reached a conclusion. Of course it was obvious that the book was going to end on a cliff hangar. There weren't enough pages to finish all the tasks we knew were coming. Nevertheless, there is still a surprise at the ending that needs an explanation.

Readers who like an action adventure with loyalty to the tenth degree will enjoy this series.
The team go to extremes to get the job done without losing each other.
Most of the story is not on earth, the planet's aren't weird but the situations the team find themselves in are well thought out and inventive. I am looking forward to the next books..

I really liked this last book of the series. It is types of dinamic, full of action and some unexpected twists. I just like characters to have a "dramatis personae" in the book, to make it easier to identify and have a better glimpse of the different aliens or main characters (Gloritant, Evolants, etc.). All in all, the book is a page turner and I can't wait for the 5th book in the series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Warning.

Warning. About this book, I'm afraid it suffers terribly from 'best book yet in the series' syndrome.
That's right. Rather conceitedly the author decided to include more surprises, more air punching moments and more brilliance than before.
That's not mentioning how more believable the minor characters are becoming.
All in all I feel sad to inform readers of the series that their money will feel ridiculously well spent when they finish this book.
Now let's see if I face even more bad news in the next book.
(I forgive the errors in the book where proof reading has slipped up

Beware, if you start reading this book you will not be able to put it down. M R Forbes style is relentless, his imagination is boundless. I've read most of his books and will read them the rest in short order. Wonderful, I can't recommend him highly enough.

Compared to the first three books this one falls a bit flat for me. Losing track of whose on what ship and why. How come ship types that got destroyed before somehow become so much tougher. Less time spent with main characters and other such plot that doesn't make as much sense to me but still. A good, fun read. I'm treating thus book like a filler story littered with key plot progression.
