5.0 out of 5 starsWisdom for both children and parents

This is a story of gaining wisdom. The fact that Suzanne turns 13 and no one knows including her own mother has such an impact. You have a very wise mother who has several children of her own who gives to the neighbors children every day without complaint and the fact that she helps Suzanne's mom on her special day gain some insight is very heartwarming! Thank you for such a wonderful short story Marianne!

My heart broke reading this short story, not just for the little girl but for all little girls who feel — or have felt — forgotten. I related, as well, because I was often forgotten as a child .. I was the 13th of 14 children to whom my mom gave birth.
This book is about growing up, and a alcoholic mother. Then theirs the support of a friend who comes to her aide as well. This book hits The truth on how alcohol can can control and destroy a family unless someone Cares enough to intervene and give aide and support to a family. A very good read.
