Mr. Rice has out done himself! After reading Sorcerers Ring and Kings and Sorcerers I didn't believe he could possibly write anything better. I wss so wrong. This series in my opinion has everything that made the others great and then some. I've always thought he was amazing with character developement, but he has surpassed himself . Ceres, Thanos, Stephania,Sertes, Anka,Lucious, and the others are so real . Rice has always written characters that made you feel loyalty, hate, love, fear, pride, and every other emotion but even more so sith these. There is even a character that I have hate, pity emotions for that I can't wait to see what the next book has in store for them and the rest. With an intriguing plot and fast paced story line there is never a boring moment. It's an epic of battles, a bit of a mystery, a story of people throwing off the chains of oppression, and a love story all wrapped together. Do you love a good story? Well this is one of the best .
I enjoyed the read but as with the first two books it is annoying this book feels less of a complete story and more of a chunk from larger story . That said the chunk that we get is awesome, and the author does not pull any punches. The antagonist are filling out for the most part. Ceres nemesis becomes a much deeper antagonist than in the previous two books. I will say that the amount of POV's does slow the story down and makes the pacing a bit jumpy. Morgan Rice will leave you conflicted and annoyed while also eager to read the next book.
I feel in love with Morgan Rice and the way she wrote years ago. But lately all of her books are not really books but episodes. You just get started into a good book and it's finished. Now you have to buy several more books to finish. And I'm not talking about one or two. Most of her series now are quite long. Bring back a honest to goodness book! I can see maybe three books to a series.
I love reading these books, but they're too short....i finish them in half a day. Probably the mark of a great story, but it drives me crazy waiting for the next one. :) well written book and great plot. Never notice any typos.
I will say that Thanos' choices this book and last has made me angry, Stephania really?! And then his choice near the end is SUPER annoying from a reader perspective, but i suppose thats part the stort and a way to segway the next book.
Every page of this book had me holding my breath. So many twist and turns made this story more hopeless with every word. Ceres and Thanos are in very different paths but have one goal to bring down the empire. This book ended very dark and hopeless. I really hope something goes good soon or I'm going to take a break from the story. Its very stressful. But its good and captivating. I love the characters. Even the bad ones.
Way too short. I felt like the 3 book series was a rip off. Even though it was well written, I felt like a fool for spending what I did for something so short. I expected books the same length as those I buy in the bookstore.
Listed as 200 pages, actually about 75 to 90. A lot of the story seemed as if it had been written by a teenage fantasy writer. the characters other than the main characters were not well developed and things seemed choppy, This is supposed to be science fantasy, and it is, but it lacks something, These books are definetly not her best works.
