Loved, loved, loved this book. Finished it in one sitting. A great debut novel. Kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to know what would happen next. I can’t wit to read more from the author. For a male writer he sure captured the essence of his female main character. Written with a deft hand and reminiscent of some of the best books by Lee Child, Brad Taylor, Brad Parks and many more, I just couldn’t put it down.
As a retiree and mystwery devotee, I read a lot. I don't expect a masterpiece every time. But I do want to see a protagonist for whose inevitable flaws I can have some sympathy or even empathy. Not so Geneva. Mr. Kies does have a nice command of the language, but ti wasn't enough to overcome a thoroughly unsympathetic character. J Taylor
This is an excellent book--well written and captures you into the story right away. I would recommend it to anyone who likes mystery stories. It is the first novel by Thomas Kies and I hope there are many more books coming.
