4.0 out of 5 stars Amazon uploading issues NOT Laurann Dohner's

A day late was definitely worth the wait and I am happy that in a little over a week LD will be releasing Lavos Book #5. Veso was surprisingly even more action-packed than the previous books in the series and kept me engaged trying to anticipate what would happen next and how they would get out of certain dilemmas. I have to say that Lorn is still my favorite, but Veso is definitely second. When the audiobook is released I will buy that as well and listen to it for the second time. There is less than a handful of my favorite author's works that I re-read every year and LD new species series is one those series.

While I am disappointed that my pre-ordered purchase for Veso is not available, it makes no sense to give one of my favorite authors a 1 star for all of her hard work. There are no absolutes. There are times when things happen that was not expected. This book is for adults not kids, but the reviews and ratings make me envision a group of kids having a temper tantrum. Grow up and be grateful that the book will be available at some point soon. I will be checking constantly and as soon as it is available I will read it in one sitting and sacrifice sleep if required.

Since this series started I was not impressed but I continued to buy the book because I've read everything by this author and I really liked her earlier books. But this book took me more than a week to read and I was just really bored. Very weak story line, usual fur meets human to have sex and fighting. Totally disappointed in one of my favourite authors.

Veso was kidnapped in the last book by a group of vampires and timeline wise we pick up straight after the fact and find out why the vampires want him and introduces us to Glen a human who has also been kidnapped. Working together they are able to escape and just like that we are back into the VLG world with more of the puzzle pieces coming together as to why the vampires have targeted the VampLycans when they are so much stronger. With this we also get a story that is both passionate and I must admit a little amusing, as Veso has such a resistance to mating to a human and Glen is just as adamant that she is going back to her boring human life and forget about vampires and VampLycans. The back and forth on the dialogue is great, and I love that Glen doesn’t turn in to a screaming lump of uselessness in the face of the horrific. The strength to Laurann Dohner books is the worlds she creates, whether it’s VLG, New Species or Cyborgs each book builds on the last in the people and the situations and each book has a great love story but never loses sight of the overarching storyline making the books very rich in detail.

After agonizing waiting to be solved technological problem finally I got the book and I read it. The wait is definitely worth it and I can not wait for the next book. I urge all those who unjustly gave 1 star because of technical problem that did not depend on the author to edit their assessments. Definitely this series find more and more a place in my heart. The good thing about this book is that it differs from the others. Here we have a lot more action, a character who does not seek and does not wait to show his mate, but eventually realizes that this is precisely what is missing in his life, we see change in relations between the clans, and actions by the clan of Lord Aveoth and.......I had doubts about the character of Veso that I will not like him because it has a reputation of ass, but things turned out quite different.

Ignore the majority of the one star reviews here as they reflect the slight snafu Amazon had of not having downloaded the book. THAT ISSUE HAS BEEN FIXED!! Those one stars should be taken down as they are not rating the story itself, and they most certainly do not reflect on the author's talent. WARNING!! THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS!

I've been eagerly awaiting the arrival of this latest installment of the series since the last one with Lorn. The pacing here is fast and although we don't get to delve too much into Glenda's character, I kept wondering what she looked like. Did we get a description of who I should be seeing in my mind, or did I just read it that fast and didn't take note of it? Veso comes off as mean and ill-tempered ( I wanted to put another adjective here, but Amazon has a cow when using any words close to profranity) considering his history witih women/humans which made it difficult for me to believe in the heat factor between these two. I felt the romance was lacking a bit in this one even compared to Drantos (VLG #1) and I loved that one. In less than a day after reaching his home, she changes her mind about becoming his mate? Eh, okay but I guess the human female in me would have taken at least a few days to think about a life-altering decision such as this and seehow the clan treats Glenda once the announcement was made.

Would I recommend this book? Yes!!! This is a continuation of the VLG saga and a few past characters show up here in Veso's clan. It's not necessary to read the past 3 books to understand this one, but it would help to understand Kira and Lorn's story as it revolves around the changes in this clan. You get a sneak peak of the next book (Lavos #5) due out some time in March and it looks interesting thus far. I'm still holding out hope for Aveoth's story at some time in the future though

Poor Veso starts this story in a bit of a bind. Good thing for him the author doesn’t leave him languishing for long. Glen may be only human, but she sure holds her own as they travel towards freedom and their HEA. This book is full of action and adventure and learning how to change your point of view. I really enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to the next book by this author.

This was book 4 in this series so far my favorite. Verso was a vamplycan who was very set in beliefs and unfortunately he paid for it. I enjoyed his characters they were interesting and funny. I actually laughed out loud in some instances. They were fierce as well I enjoyed reading this book because it involved adventurous situations and mystery. This book was beginning solution to the the clans problems. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

I've just finished reading yet another enjoyable Laurann Dohner book.
I enjoyed the interaction between the main characters. The heroine was strong and stood up to the even stronger character of the hero in this story. Looking forward to the next one.
I've really enjoyed reading this series but I love New Species more!!

I had preorderd this book and for the first time there was an technical issue with receiving the full book. Eventually, after going through my Amazon account page, I received the whole book.
