This book is a bit darker than the otehers in the series, but it is very good. Leslie Meier does a very good job bringing to life many issues that parents and children face daily. Lucy Stone is faced with controlling parents, gun control, bullying, teenage drinking and the relationships between mothers and daughters all while solving a murder. Lucy handles everything with her usual aplomb and keeps her family together. The plot was fast paced with several twists and turns and the usual characters were present to lend support to Lucy. This book is awesome! It's more than the usual cozy mystery.
Great reading of course I love Leslie Meier's books. This one was different a little twist and a surprise ending was good. Lucy is a great character you she what she is thinking and her options. Then builds on others from the community. Mostly these stories keep my interest and I enjoy the puzzle of solving the murder. You want to read more and find out what is happening. It is nice to have another book available to read and pick up. Hope you enjoy the series.
Another great read featuring Lucy Stone. Leslie Meier tells a story that encompasses the trials of being a teenager in the twenty first century. The characters use cell phones to harass other students and to exploit them. The pressures of dealing with overbearing parents plays a role in the plot and she develops the characters to demonstrate how such pressures can lead to disastrous consequences.
No matter what books I have to chose from I will always opt for this author! She is a great writer, using believable scenarios, never bloody or gory ...jsut a good mystery that alwasy suprises the reader at the end...Right when I think I know who did it...it is totally someone you'd never guess! Her books are always hard to put down!
