I was so happy to see that the "last" Rylee Adamson book had come out and that I could finally see how everything was wrapped up. I ordered it and read it up in a day (on my first day of vacation last weekend). I'm also pleased to see that the author has continued to make use of an editor. It makes reading her books so much more enjoyable. I was probably 3/4 through when I realized that no, we will not get an ending to the story anytime soon. Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed these characters immensely and zip right through the book; however, the feeling started with book 8 that the author is just dragging out this story too long. I will be really frustrated if Book 10 turns out to be more of the same. At the same time, I found myself confused about a lot of the story until I finally realized that some of the "new to me" characters had already been introduced in a novella. I am not a reader of novellas, and I am not an electronic reader. I like to hold a book in my hand and put it on the shelf when I've finished. That said, I do not own a kindle, so I could not have read the novella even if I wanted to! I am paying enough for these books that I do not appreciate being short-changed in the information department. If this had happened earlier on in the series, that would have been the end of the series for me. I have been very patient with her lack of editing, drawing out the story etc. and have been a faithful reader so I have to read the last book to find out what happens. However, if she throws in another novella in the meantime AND doesn't make it available to everyone, I will be turned off Shannon Mayer altogether.

NOTE: SOME SPOILERS IN HERE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
By the way, before you read this book, you definitely need to read Stitched, book 8.5 (http://www.amazon.com/Stitched-Book-Rylee-Adamson-Novella-ebook/dp/B00TQ70PMG). It's a quick read, but it fills in a lot of details that this book continued on with.
I read this book in about 7 hours. It's exactly what I expect from Shannon's Rylee Adamson novels. Except, this book wasn't so much about Rylee this time, as all the other books have been. Rylee was, of course, front and center, but there was a lot more of another character who is going to play a much bigger role than anyone expected. And a third of the familiar characters undergoes a big change. And Liam isn't as long gone as we thought, but he's twisted up inside someone else. All the while, Orion sets about wreaking havoc in the world.
Great, just what Rylee needs. More confusion.
This chapter sets up the final book perfectly. And just as planned, I can't wait for it.
I absolutely love the Rylee Adamson series. You truly never know what will happen from one page to the next. There is a new struggle and heartache around every corner for this interesting "family" (aka band of powerful, mystical misfits), but there are moments of utter joy and happiness sprinkled in that make it all worth it.
While I certainly have my favorites, I have simply fallen in love with all the characters throughout the past 9 books. Each is well developed, with a mini storyline all their own. I would love to see some follow up series centered around some of the other characters. I hate the thought of this crazy, fun crew just disappearing after book 10 this Fall.
My only complaint would be that this book ended too soon and on yet another cliffhanger - I am ready for the next book!
5.0 out of 5 starsNo real spoilers... SO FREAKING AMAZING!

5 Stars AGAIN!
After Rylee leaves the babies behind with the people she needs to leave them with, she ventures home. However, her protege is so pissed off at her she sees read. She feels that Rylee has left her. The problem is Rylee cannot tell anyone why she has left, because if she does there is a chance that Orion will find out she also had a baby. The young girl witch she had taken under her wing is now in love with the necromancer boy they took under their wing. Its cute, but she uses is to make him come with her. Now that Rylee is back, she leaves because she feels Rylee broke her promise of never leaving her. She is so angry she makes some seriously terrible choices. Unfortunately, Rylee was told this girl would be on the fence between good and evil until the day when she made her final choice. Rylee fears that her leaving has potentially made the strongest witch alive so angry she will fall prey to the evil deep within.
Rylee is bound to her dragon, has lost the love of her life, her sister whom she thought dead most of her life is now on her team (as a vampire), the head vampire is in love with her, another vampire is merged with the love of her lifes soul by accident, her adopted sister has been taken over by Orion totally, and the rest of her crew is all in this til the death with her.
I am telling you, if you ever want a series that leaves you on the seat of your chair unable to put the book down, this is it.
YES there is cussing, but if you had to deal with what she does, you would cuss too. Yes, there is lots of heart ache and stress, but this isn't a "happy ending" type story. This is ... what would happen if a demon tried to make an apocolyse situation book. NOBODY is happy! There is love, there is bonds that cannot be broken in life or death, there are enemies who are friended because the enemy of my enemy is my friend. There are people dying who you NEVER thought would die in this series. This is a true holy crap type book. Honestly, I don't think I could ever say there was a book series that I have followed that touched my soul regarding honor, integrity and also showing the beauty of living as this one has, all while people die. Well, hopefully you will understand what I mean when you START FROM BOOK ONE! Lol
The way she writes these books in Kindle format is great too, because if for some reason you decided to read this book instead of starting at the beginning, the name of each character is highlighted in the book in order to make it so you can click on it, and it gives you a summary of who the person is. I love it!!!
With each book that goes by, it gets harder and harder to know what to say as these Rylee books are so brilliant. Rylee's team/family are wonderful and along with the character of Rylee herself what makes these such fantastic reads. Each book contains more action, more heartbreak, more jaw dropping moments of revelation than I think I can take. The twists and turns, with elements that were set up books ago keeps your brain constantly active. The story as a whole is coming to an end and when it does I think I will be a little heartbroken myself but I also want very much a happy ending for Rylee (and the rest of the world!) and her team. She is reaching the end of what surely she can take and I want to see these story arcs play out. I feel like I have cried, laughed and held my breath for years along with her, for it is one roller coaster of a ride and this book is no exception. Brilliant as ever, these books are a must read for anyone into urban fantasy or anyone who likes an action driven, emotional ride. I loved this.
5.0 out of 5 starsI was left feeling a little sad when I finished the book

I was left feeling a little sad when I finished the book, knowing there is only one more in this series. As per usual Shannon does not disappoint - whiplash inducing twists and turns, cracking story line and the usual loveable suspects. I will so miss Alex. I wait with bated breath for the last in the series and keeping finger crossed that Liam returns so he can meet his little girl. Thank you Shannon for a great book in a fabulous series
We're coming towards the final battle in the next book which I can't wait for. This book has lots of drama sorrow and joy. Liam is back sort of and there's a surprise for Alex as well. Plenty of tension in this book and Pamela finally realises her potential. Must read for this authors fans.
