4.0 out of 5 stars A strong independent woman and her protective male make this a good read

I received this advanced readers copy for an honest and voluntary review.
I liked the first time Alexa met Ben (G I Joe as she calls him), her tour guide had not shown up; and she really wanted to do the tour of Angel Falls. Their names change in the story after that and Ben becomes Joe and Alexa becomes princess. I could deal with the Princess calling, but Joe was even what her friends and family thought his name was. Their no strings relationship is over when she leaves Venezuela to head back to San Francisco, unbeknownst to her that there is a string still attached; yep a secret baby. Six months later Ben shows up surprising her, since he also is from the San Francisco area. Alexa is a stubborn independent woman and that causes a problem in the relationship when Ben becomes more protective. The relationship has a few ups and downs but in the three months they are together before the baby is born, they work it out. Please read this book if you like independent women and strong protective military males, who get their hea.

5.0 out of 5 stars A trek through the Jungle.

Alexa Dayne is the black sheep in her family. Her family owns a bakery and she can't bake. She tries but it's not for her. She owns her own hair salon and makes her own hours. She decides to take a vacation in Venezuela so she hires a guide to take the trek through the Jungle to Angel Falls. Arriving in Venezuela her guide is a no show.
Ben Marx is a retired military trying to start an extreme sports venue for thrill seekers and trying to fulfil a promise he made to his buddy that was killed by a roadside bomb. He was going to climb to Angel Falls for his buddy. Alexa charms him into being his guide.
A great read. The attention to detail I've noticed in this book and all her books really makes them come to life. The description of the surrounds is just awesome you can really see it all while your reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Daring Adventure

I loved this story. It was full of adventure and quirky characters. The second in the series was just as amazing as the first. Fast paced, and lots of laughs. I can relate to Alexa and the feeling of being a fish out of water in the middle of a jungle. And Ben reminded me of my husband always prepared and full of stubborn determination. What a mix those two personalities make in a foreign country, in an unusual choice of a vacation. Full of emotional twists and turns, and determination from two unlikly heros.
