This is the story of Tommy and Tonya. He's mafia muscle, she's a detective. Everything about this relationship is so wrong, and yet, it's so right. The stage is definitely set for fireworks and Ms. Winters does not disappoint.
Tommy is the enforcer of the Valetti family and he's trying to lay low while under investigation. Tonya is one of the detectives assigned to his case.
Tonya became a detective after her sister was kidnapped and later found dead. She's seeking vengeance against Petrov, the man responsible for her sister's death. She needs closure, she needs to know Petrov is dead and she believes Tommy has the answer. Even though he knows a response to her constant pleas for the truth would soothe her, he refuses to reveal any truths. After all, she could be tricking him into revealing a truth that could land him in jail.
Tommy is warned to stay away, but he can't. Tonya knows getting involved with Tommy is a career killer, but she can't resist him. She fools herself into believing it's a need to know the truth, but she's falling, fast and hard. The attraction develops at lightning speed into love with never-ending heat and fireworks between them. Tonya is tough, very tough, and that strength in tested toward the end while Tommy's commitment to her and their possible future together is threatened.
This is another great addition to the Valetti series.
