There's nothing more dangerous than a dragon that is both bored and confined. It's a dangerous combination.
I always enjoy "meeting" a new dragon in my fantasy reading and Deneth and his adventures didn't disappoint. Throw in a plucky kid and some royalty, and you have yourself a satisfying fantasy story with a couple of fun twists. The author does a skilled job of efficiently setting up his magical world without bogging down the plot or action in the process. It feels both familiar and brand-new. (It might be fun to see more of Deneth or this world in future stories.)
This was an entertaining short story. I recommend it for anyone who enjoys a good dragon fable.
