Daisy loves her job as an interior designer and her best friend's bakery, Sweet Tooth. Unfortunately it seems Detective Christ Crumble is correct when he tells Daisy she "has some kind of voodoo doll mystic bad mojo" going on since she always seems to be around when dead bodies are found. Daisy has been hired to decorate the model home for the new subdivision of moderately priced homes being built outside of town. The construction company owner is found strangled to death the second day she arrives on the job. Considering all the fights Daisy overheard the day before with his site foreman, both his son's and even his wife and the way he treated everyone it is surprising he lived as long as he did. With no one having a good word to say about the man the suspect list is endless.

Daisy is a feisty character full of energy. Loyal to all she calls friends whom I fell in love with such as Grannie Annie (I would be so pleased to have someone like her in my life) with her quick wit and homilies, or Samantha who believes a cupcake can solve any problem (I agree). Gavin her besotted stage where he agrees with anything Daisy wants; although I did see times when he is beginning to let her know he doesn't like all the things he does with her but does it for her. That is so sweet. There is an Alpha male waiting to show himself and I think Daisy is going to welcome him.

5.0 out of 5 stars Series Keeps Getting Better!!

This series just keeps getting better and better!! Daisy heads out to a new job, this time she is decorating the model home for a new subdivision being built on the outskirts of Cozy Creek. She’s even thinking about purchasing one of the homes, dependent on what they actually look like. When she arrives, she overhears an argument with the foreman (who happens to be a friend of the family) and the owner. After he is fired, she overhears the owner arguing with his wife and one of his sons. The next day, she reports to work and discovers that the owner was killed the night before. Detective Crumpet is on scene and interrogating everyone. Once she provides her alibi, she gets back to work. She has decided that this is one mystery she is not solving and attempts to stay out of it. Only she can’t the detective arrests the wrong person and Daisy needs to get the right one arrested.
I am definitely loving the way the relationship is playing out between her and Gavin. It’s nice to read a romance that takes it’s time. My favorite character is still Granny Annie. I absolutely adore the way she is written and I wish I had someone like her in my life… Can’t wait to get started on the next one!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Deadly Real Estate Affair (Cozy Mystery...)

The Deadly Real Estate Affair (Cozy Mystery...) has Daisy once again at a job site minding her own business, doing her interior decorating, when someone gets killed. There are a few twists, one being that Detective Crumple, seems to have a personality change in how he handles things. The story has Daisy doing a job at a construction site for Majestic Estates, which even in the basic beginning form isn't anything near Majestic. That's where Daisy comes in, to transform the development into something majestic. Once again, she has barely put in anytime there at all, when someone gets killed; and there are plenty of people who had the motive to do so. Will Daisy figure out the real murderer? It's a quick read and steady paced story, one where you could easily finish in one sitting.

1.0 out of 5 stars procedural errors, faulty grammar, too much unnecessary food talk, and ridiculous 'chick' crap
Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2017

These might be on kindle unlimited, but I keep coming up with winning them or else freebie days or something. The grammar is off, with such examples as ''his son's Owen and Adam'', and once again the writing is 'formula' with mentions of food way too much and one dimensional characters. On top of all that, the main character is thinking one insulting thing after another about the main police officer, and basically shugged off ANOTHER murder. Besides, even if someone had solved or helped solve dozens of cases, if they were around the same place as a murdered person, yes they would need to be questioned. If anyone in real life ate the way the main character did, she would look absolutely nothing like the picture on the books, either; she looks anorexic on the covers where as in real life she would be chubby and then some along with probably diabetic. Someone can't just be held/arrested without reasonable cause, either. As for Daisy, it must be ever so wonderful to be a full blown infallible human lie detector. Someone can't badger a detective to make them let a prisoner get visitiors, just a lawyer. I can't read any more, this book is so ridiculously stupid. Come on, a rope...a curved, textured semi-porous surface with recessed areas supposedly had a viable print made by the accused who was working at the construction site so had every reason to have his fingerprints on it anyway but was all the rope tested for supposed prints, and even then when using rope people tend to wear gloves. Really nice how the main character gripes at the Detective for simply trying to do his job, all the while with thoughts aimed at the reader for how badly she always thinks of his job perfomance. The person who did it was not who 'spilled' their guts, it was all supposition on the main character's part, so any person with the least bit of sense would have just shrugged it off becuase all the police had as 'evidence' was her suppositions and the other person coming forward as if they wanted to strangle her, so big whoop-de-do.Daisy's know it all b.s. and condescending attitude to an officer of the law that had proof beyond 'knowing' someone was not lying, please. The start of the next book read, "Crime scenes were something Daisy McDare would never get used to." Really? Is that why the dead body out in plain view still, for whatever reason, at the construction site in the previous story only got a passing look and thought from her, right?

2.0 out of 5 stars There are so many better books available

The main character was wildly unbelievable, as were most of the others, and the writing so poor that I gave up about 35% of the way through. At this stage Daisy had turned up for work to find lots of police cars, a dead body still lying on the ground in plain sight of all the gawkers and to cap it off I'm then told that the police are moving the body. Aside from this giving me a mental image of a cop dragging a corpse along the ground by the ankle, there is no way that a crime scene would be compromised like this, even in a cosy. Life is too short to waste on books like this.

3.0 out of 5 stars Interior design....

Free book but it took a while for me to get round to reading. However the repeated phrase.. "wanted to look like he was on top of the ball" made me want to delete the book immediately. Daisy asks questions on her route to solving the mystery that not only should have had her arrested but probably assaulted too.

I've really enjoyed this series of books. Daisy is so down to earth but so good at detective work. You feel like she could be someone you know. I love the fact she gives in to her sweet tooth too, a real woman who loves cakes - not an obsessive gym bunny who only eats salad!
