I really enjoyed this retelling of the myth explaining the origin of Mexico City’s two volcanoes. It is a little different from the versions I had heard but not sufficiently to lose its meaning. My kids (5 and 2.5) really enjoy it too. It is on frequent rotation for bedtime, and especially so since they saw the volcanos from the airplane window.
My only wish would be to have a Spanish version. I am Mexican and am always on the lookout for good Spanish / Latin-culture children’s books for my kids. We have a few of Tonatiuh’s books and really enjoy them. I wanted to give them to my young nieces in Mexico. However, they don’t speak English yet. It is unfortunate that they are only available in English.
