I wanted more from this book but instead it was much too short. Waited a long time for it too. While I enjoy the "Storm" trilogy, this book seem disassociated with them. I love Jake and always knew his feelings for Brianna were hidden but this book just seemed lacking. Although it did answer a couple of questions left hanging from the last one, there wasn't enough substance to it. Also, the author would repeat facts already stated. I expected a little more cat and mouse chase between the two main characters but it was like they never even shared the animosity that kept them apart through the first 3 books. And then it abruptly ended. Am I surprised? Not really. Most books these days you need find out if there's a cliffhanger and if another book is coming soon before reading. Otherwise, you're going to be disappointed as I am right now.
Brianna is the wild child that feels lost... she is the party girl, engaged, then not due to infidelity of her fiance.... Jake has been her bodyguard for several years, has loved her from afar. She is in charge of a huge project in Brazil that is part of the family business.... through some rough waters & a secret kept by Jake regarding another family member....Gabriel has fired him...Now he calls to make a plea, hoping Jake can put their differences aside....Brianna is a mess, the project is having all types of problems & Brianna is out of control....Gabriel asks him to go to Brazil & be her bodyguard, try to figure out what is going on with her. As time passes, they grow closer, then she finally breaks down...she lets him know what has caused her behavior. A plan is set in motion, a rescue conducted, a return to the states, a reunion, then on to their home... a return in turn opens the door for other answers. The couple parts, both fighting the feelings they hold. A confrontation, a shooting, answers found regarding the destruction & mayhem on the work project.....then, Brianna walks away, again. In time Jake is given answers to the puzzle, he confronts Brianna, her defenses down, she finally realizes his love is real & he isn't going to be discarded. Together their future is bright.....
Brianna is a highly educated, brilliant, hard-working BRAT! She is so annoying, you'll want to scream, but don't worry, she grows up. That's not a spoiler, honest. This story is so good! You may know that her main bodyguard for 8 years has been Jake. She is in Brazil, messing up a Storm Industries job and Jake has been asked to go down there to fix everything. He also wants to know why she is acting so irresponsibly! There is danger, suspense, and two people who have loved each other for a long time, but can't even admit it to themselves. Lots of action, and what's great is this book 4 of the series stands alone ok and there is no cliffhanger. Of course, as with most series you won't be disappointed if you read the books in order.
I just finished Storm Conquered and it was every bit as good as I knew it would be. Wildcat Brianna finally got tamed and the taming was a great read. Jake Cooper has been Brianna's bodyguard for years and Brianna has led Jake on a merry chase until she has finally been caught. Their journey has led them to Brazil where Storm Industries has a wind energy project in the works and Brianna is overseeing the project. Someone is out to sabotage the project and maybe harm Brianna, something Jake will never allow.
I have loved the entire Storm series and would love to have Ms Alexander continue their saga for at least one or 2 more books. I would certainly love hearing Edward's and Royce's stories. From beginning to end this series has brought this reader a lot of pleasure.
I read all four books and they had a great story. My only comment is on the forth book and the untrue things written about Brazil. I am from Brazil and I hated to see all the made up stories about my Country, even the weather was described wrong as we do not have hurricanes there. The story was great but it was very sad for me to read those details about Brazil, which is a very beautiful country, not a jungle with primitives, not a country where you wouldn't have a nice bed and comfortable homes, not a place full of gangsters... And many other things that were written on this book.
Brianna Storm and Jake Cooper finally get together!!! If you have read the previous books in the Storm Damages series you knew their story would come because you could feel the sexual tension between the two even though they weren't the main characters in the story. Well we finally get what we have been waiting for. I was beyond thrilled with this story it gave us the right amount of drama and sex, the drama was something unexpected while the sex was everything you thought it would be.
I can't wait for rest of the series to come out!!!
The entire series was excellent and very well written; lots of intrigue, and interesting to read. Definitely adult material. However, personally, I prefer standalone books, even in a series. The Storm family is in constant turmoil but it was necessary to read the first three books to resolve the trials and tribulations of one couple. If the entire series isn't purchased the story will never reach it's conclusion.
