I have gotten all the Rush Revere books for my grandchildren and then I read them first. They love them and, as a former American History teacher, I appreciate the reading of "real" American History rather than the revisionist history the kids get today. I'm assuming that Rush and his wife will be doing a book on the Supreme Court and also on Alexander Hamilton as the first Secretary of the Treasury and the establishment of the capitalist system for the U.S. I have also recommended the books to other grandparents and parents for their kids as well.

Did you know that history can be fun? Well, when you add in a sarcastic time traveling horse, his troublesome companions - and their history teacher, it can be! My kids have enjoyed reading all the Rush revere books. It started with my husband reading them aloud and now the kids read them for personal enjoyment. My 3rd grader laughs out loud while reading and often wants to share what knowledge he has gained. He has asked to go to the national archives in DC for vacation. Highly recommended from a teacher, mom and reader!
5.0 out of 5 stars... listen to Rush Revere with our grandchildren and we love it as much as they do

We listen to Rush Revere with our grandchildren and we love it as much as they do! We have learned so much of the CORRECT history. The schools try to hide our countries history. Every one should hear the Cd's! They make history interesting and fun. There is also humor throughout with Liberty, the talking horse! Very well done!
5.0 out of 5 starsGreat historic fiction to read to a 5-6 year old

Read through the whole series with my 5 then 6 year old. Barely into kindergarten he certainly doesn't grasp all of the political social impacts of the background historic lessons in these, but that's when you should be starting to teach these things! Plenty of fun characters to keep a young ones attention and I'm not too proud to say I learned a little history too. No modern day politics drawn in, just a good foundation to frame thinking and history. No doubt when he starts with school history he'll have a step up and probably more accurate base.
As a 68 year old veteran, I've read every Rush Revere book. Although I learned much of the book's contents as a boy, I thoroughly enjoyed going back in time to learn first hand the early history of our country! Right from the horse's mouth, you might say (thank you Liberty)!
For the first quarter of this book, I was afraid there wasn't going to be enough time travel, but then Liberty took off and the last three quarters were fantastic! I hope there are more of these books to come. Like maybe "Rush Revere and the Way West" or "Rush Revere and the Underground Railroad" or "Rush Revere and the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act of 1930".

I have the entire set. Good for kids or a 71yr old senior citizen like myself. Easy to follow. it was fictional but historically correct. I did not get any kind of information on American history like this when I was in school. It should be required in schools. Gives us Faith and Hope.
SUCH a great series! I have read all of them so far and absolutely love them! Funny I don't ever remember liking history or understanding the small details I've heard so far in the series. Regardless of whether or not you love the author, the content and details of the story are excellent. Makes learning history fun for young minds as well.
