This book really struck a place in my heart because it is based on a true story. It is like a fairy tale for those of us who believe in happily ever after.
Rowan McClain is a romance author who married her high school sweetheart, Evan. Their life was going just like their 5 year plan until Rowan quit her job as a CPA to become an author. Evan was still following the plan hoping to become a partner in the law firm he worked for. He thought his wife writing girlie books was silly and unprofessional and he decided he didn't want to have kids.
Luke Cartwright was a lieutenant in the army stationed in Iraq. He had dropped out of college after his parents had been killed on Christmas Eve. He had broken up with his girlfriend after he flew to see her and found her in the arms of another man. He decided to enlist in the army and he buried his feelings towards his dad and his girlfriend by taking care of his unit.
One day a close friend brought him a care package. One night when he couldn't sleep he started reading the girlie book that was in the package. He found he could identify with the author and her feelings so they started corresponding together until Luke was discharged from the army.
Fate steps in next. This story made me cry because it was based on a true story. I want to read the other books that Suzanne Whitfield Vince has written!
I received an advance copy of the book for my honest review. I loved the book!
