I legit drooled over this cover for a good five minutes before I opened the book. Like I went back and stared at the cover imagining all kinds of dirty things I would do to that handsome face. Lordy, thats a gorgeous man! And those aviators? Whew, I'm just sitting here fanning my fanny. Again, I would advise reading the 4th book before diving into this one because you should really read/be part of how Lianne and Bella became friends.
The story is pretty simple if you look at it from Lianne's POV. She's an actress who likes a boy and he's being hot and cold to her. You feel lbad for her because she doesn't exactly have any friends apart from Bella and it took Bella's tragedy to make even that happen. So really, you feel horrible for her. Like, you DO not like DJ when you see everything from Li's POV. BUT THEN, you read DJ's side of the story and you're like WHOA! Because isn't that a slap of reality and misery. When you read his side of the story you realise just how convulted this world is and how unfair. And you feel SO bad for him!
I was swept away in the story about these college kids who are being given things that adults or anyone really would have such a hard time dealing with. What a gorgeous story! And what a beautiful twist to the tale. The whole book you keep hating/wondering about Annie and why she did what she did but then when you find out her reasons, your heart goes out to her because no one should go through what she did. I feel just as bad for her as I feel for Daniel.
The story also made me really curious about Leo and Georgia. When you read about Amy hanging all over Trevi you don't really think there is more to the story but of course there is and their story actually adds a lot to DJ's story. Because knowing how Gigi feels about this whole thing really puts DJ's mind to rest. I loved that scene of him calling her. It was so so sweet. I really enjoyed this book, I just wish there was more of it because it kinda finished too soon.
Definitely 5 star rating.
All my love,
