I agree with other Amazon reviewer, Lucie B. What Alex did to Shakira because he thought she intentionally left him was unforgivable. Which is too bad, because this story was pretty good right up till the last 5% of the story, and believe me, the way the end was written did NOT in any way make up for what he did. Dirt bag. "Oh, you're mad at your wife and won't even let her try to explain what happened? Okay, sure it's just fine to cheat on her with every tramp you can get your hands on and leave her to suffer on her own when she gets fired from her job and miscarries your child" (/sarcasm). Does not bode well for the rest of their relationship now does it? He screwed things up so badly and I was so busy raging over his behavior that I almost missed the part where he decides to tell her he loves her. Yeah. Some prize he is.
I don't understand why the author chose to write that part into the storyline. It wasn't pivotal to the story and just made me despise the supposed "hero" of the story. Sorry, but I will not be reading any other books by this author.
