I received an ARC for an honest review. Very interesting and very dark story. The 'hero' is a psychiatrist who is also a drug dealer. He also has some less than normal sexual desires. He uses the front of a sleep study to drug women to manipulate them to do what he wants. However, he meets the 'heroine' Kiana, who wants to join the sleep study because she has been suffering from insomnia for 2 months and needs sleep before she loses her job. She finds Dr Stavros Kane, the psychiatrist, handsome, compelling, suspicious, attractive, hard to get out of her mind. She falls for him and he for her. What effect will this have on his work and his life? On hers? This bad boy may have no redeeming qualities except that she loves him?? Very interesting approach!! Well worth reading!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth your time

This book is slow and the characters have very little redeeming characteristics. Kiana is closed up and really lacks common sense. Stavros is a d-bag with a MD. The way they meet isn't necessarily hard to believe and the story line isnt awful, but the interactions and thoughts of the characters are so flat and boring. This book was not worth the read.

This was a short read. The storyline was unique from what I've read before. The writing was good, but often I wasn't "feeling" it. I was reading verses living within the words.

1.0 out of 5 stars My Opinion

I thought the concept of this book was very interesting. Psychiatrist with a darkness in his heart falls for damaged girl with insomnia. But there was absolutely no romance in story and i just don't understand how or feel that the two characters are in love. It's all lust, but for the crap the "hero" brings to the table, for the heroine to realistically be able to handle it there needs to be some form of love. **SPOILER ALERT** This is pretty much their relationship from what I read. They meet. He's instantly obsessed. First date, she lets him finger her. Next meeting, shes part of his clinical trial for insomniacs. The volunteers are all drugged. He then sneaks into her room and rapes her. But its ok because he felt some guilt afterwards. -_- She wakes up feeling weird but she thinks the things she felt were a dream so she ignores the feeling in her nether regions. She later sees signs that her dream was real, shes upset...mostly because shes jealous that he mightve done this to the other volunteers! How ridiculous is that!? Skip skip skip she investigates him, finds out he's complete and utter trouble and has been manipulating her....but still she stays. How? I just dont get it. I cant finish this book. With her past, the things he does to her and her acceptance of it all just doesnt make any sense.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jekyll & Hyde meet Bride of chucky!
Reviewed in the United States on April 29, 2016
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. This book is your average dark romance. Kiana is an insomniac and hears about a doctor who can help her with her problem. She goes to interview for the sleep study and is surprised to see that she got in without too many questions being asked.

Dr. Stavros is also an elusive drug lord who uses his sleep study program to brainwash the women to deal his product and forget that they’re doing it. He is immediately attracted to Kiana from the moment that she walks into the office for the interview.

He feels that he can seduce Kiana into giving inti him voluntarily without the drugs, but when she starts putting things together, he can’t help, but try and keep her from revealing his secret. Kiana is not the only suspicious participant and things just get bad from here. There is rape, kidnapping, murder and twists and turns that will leave you yelling at the character in question.

Kiana💋🔥 can't sleep! She was abused by her stepfather and for some reason, as an adult it has all started to haunt her again. She has insomnia, so bad she can't concentrate and she is losing clients. She enters a sleep 😴study that will hopefully help her. The psychiatrist running the sleep study is Dr Stavros🐺🍌🌋👋, tall ,dark alpha and mysterious.
Dr. Stavros🐲🍌🌋👋 is actually a cartel drug importer/distributor of the highest order. He's at the top, making millions💰, money laundering profits with ownership of an upscale bar, among other businesses.
The sleep study is just a scheme to 💉drug and brainwash😵 participants into being pushers for him. For some reason he decides he wants Kiana💋👙 to play with instead of brainwash. She is fascinated by him but 😨afraid if him at the same time.
Stavros🐲🍌🌋👋 has an ego the size of Texas. He is a bad, bad, naaasssty man! He thinks nothing and no one can bring him down. He has some kind of hold over Kiana💋👙, he seems to be able to read her mind. Sex with him is mind blowing, she can't get enough. Yet, She is still frightened of him but completely infatuated at the same time.
YEHAW! Ride em Bareback🍌, Cowgirl!🐎🐎🐎🐎

This is a well written fast paced book!

2.0 out of 5 stars bad execution, poor plot, poorly designed characters
Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2020
I wish I had read some of the other reviews before. First of all, the heroine (if you could even call her that) is totally wishy-washy and unbelievable. The story doesn't flow well and the plot is short-lived, predictable, and executed badly.
I am OK with amoral characters sometimes, but this story takes that notion and exaggerates it to such a crazy degree.
SPOILER HINT (most people don't go from being molested by someone to being ok with being drugged and molested in 2 days).
To each their own, but this would never be a book I would own.
