I love Alice Quentin, she's a strong empathetic heroine with flaws. Story is interesting and as usual filled with red herrings, the London locations and references to it's history make it a fun read. Alice's mother's illness has escalated but her brother is better not so her unrequited feelings for her detective love who has returned to his wife and family. She's smart and determined sometimes taking chances with her emotions and safety.
Her life is complicated with roadblocks which makes her desire to right wrongs and be happy touching. Love the repeat characters and hope to read more on Alice.
