Karen Nutt is one of those authors who can really write great chemistry between two main characters--and this book did not disappoint. JoBeth and Jace were excellent point and counterpoint to each other. JoBeth-who started out as a criminal hauled into jail, became a sympathetic character. Holy cow, did Nutt do a great job of redeeming her! And Jace's initial hesitation to believe what his daughter told him about the future--and the new prisoner in her father's jail, was the perfect vehicle to drive this story.
There's plenty of wild west action. A truly bad villain. A cast of supporting characters that I felt like I knew by the end of the book. And there's the evolving romance between a gun-shy doubter and a heartbroken widower.
Nutt's writing is good. It's well edited. And the story leaves the reader smiling.
