This is a review for all four books in the series. Ivy is a jewellery designer, devastated after she caught her fiancé cheating on her. Jax is wealthy business man with a grudge. They meet at a gallery and then the romance starts. I was invested from the start but it quickly turned to confused and annoyed. Jack was basically a creepy stalker, turning in to a controlling man with multiple personalities. Ivy is naive and quickly persuaded by the first touch. This relationship was so up and down I got exhausted byit. Just like Ivy, you know.. until the next chapter where she was mesmerised by Jax again. I absolutely love this author and I give her a pass since this is her first story.
This book had me so unsure wehere it was going and it kept me guessing through out it.. Ivy is struggling with life after her very public break up when she is brought face to face with on hot man with a bunch if secrets. Jax Walker, the man that makes her body do crazy things.. The man who makes random appearances in her life, the man who with one look can make her want to get naked, wants her, needs her, seems to be obsessed with her. Mark the ex who just won't go away quietly after he cheated on her, her nosy neighbor Ms. Adams who buts in Ivy's life. Her best friend Liz who needs Ivy to go with her everywhere. Truths are revealed and lies come to the surface, all the relationships Ivy knows seem to crumble. The drama in this book was awesome the ending left me reeling!! A hot must read!!
I m hooked I did not see what was coming! Ivy Harlow is a wounded soul, trying to pick up after a heartbreaking deception of her fiancé. She goes out with her bestie to an art gallery and meets Jax. He is obsessed with her. We don't really find out how obsessed? We just get a peek when Brighton (his brother) tries to warn her off and fesses up to what Jax has planned. What I thought was interesting is that I thought Brighton wanted Ivy for himself but I guess he really wanted Liz her BFF. Jax tried to dominate her by telling her she needs to rid her life of Mark (former fiancé) and carried over his domination.....If you don't want to know anymore plot details stop reading now! I was hooked at this point ! Spoiler alert. ************************** turns out during a angry discussion with Mark-we find out that he cheated on Ivy with her BFF Liz and 2 other women. Interesting part.....Liz overhears that conversation and says to Mark "you said it was just me" then psycho Liz says to Ivy why didn't you tell me there were 3 and then attacks Ivy and takes out her anger on Ivy and busts up her apartment. Ivy runs from her home and turns to Jax. Jax treats her very caringly and nurture' s her. This was were we find out he respects her because he could have bedded her but he leaves her to sleep that night and takes the guest room. I still question Jax 's motives because the next day he finally seduces Ivy and then tells her to turn off her phone, don't talk to Mark or Liz and oh btw take this blank check and restart your life free from Mark. She tells him no! I won't be bought and he comes up with another way to take charge of her.....he said you don't want to be bought? What do you have that I can buy from you? They meet and discuss the entire split between her and Mark and he says he know how she can accept his blank check and accept the $$$$ fare and square! This is where part 1 ends and now I m hooked. I got to know what happens next. I am enjoying the series.
Obsessed is a surprising read. I am going to review it a little differently from my normal routine. I will list the pros and cons. I like to start with the cons so that we end on a positive note. Cons: I know that this is a work of fiction, but I am having trouble believing that an intelligent savvy woman doesn’t see the amount of red flags that arise after being told that a rich handsome stranger is obsessed with her. I like a man that wants to take care of his woman and is fiercely protective of her, but making demands of who she talks to, not telling her that he is her new boss, telling her that she needs to turn off her phone when they are together, but his phone is too important to turn off. RED FLAG. I know that she feels this attraction to him that she can’t explain; it wouldn’t be a romance novel if she didn’t, but does the unexplainable attraction negate the amount of crazy before you? The pros: I think that the writing flows easily - making it hard to put down. The sex is steamy and the twists and turns that the story takes make for an exciting read. I really enjoyed the book, even with the red flags glaring at you and have already ordered the next installments of the series. I hope that I will not be disappointed.
The book was amazing from start to finish. I was so addicted I read the three books in two days There was so much mystery and emotion that made the books so unbelievably good. Although there was a big down side I didn't like the ending of the book It very nice but looking from a more realistic rather than romantic side I wish he both kept his wealth as that made him so much desirable and I felt that the character lost a piece of himself when he gave up his power. The deceit, betrayal, heartbreak and past hurt really made it a no.1 must read for any person that need a pool side book or a night in beside the fire
Even the name of the book gives me shivers! Without giving anything away, it is a quick, somewhat intense read. We can see the obsession beginning--and get little glimpses of how long it has been going on. Jax- the obsessed and Ivy- his prey. You can start to feel the obsession, it is pretty creepy and would likely freak out any woman. Ivy has to second guess her trusting, so even she, somewhere in Her mind, knows that Jax's focus on her is a bit over the top.
The scenes between the two of them have good chemistry. My page wasn't burning up with desire, but they seem good together. The only question I have is whether it is really ok to stalk and obsess as long as you have ungodly amounts of money. Seems like the wealthy, powerful men get away with it.
