What did you like best about Punked by the Pumpkin: A Cozy Mystery? What did you like least?
The fact that there was a variety of strange things going on, it fits with the Halloween theme of the book.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
It needed more intense action and the scariness more developed.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
It sounded as if she was speed reading and as if someone of the characters were shouting instead of talking. Very harsh delivery. Her voice for Eli, the hero, sounded more like a cranky old woman.
Could you see Punked by the Pumpkin: A Cozy Mystery being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
This would be more of a C grade Lifetime type movie with Lori Loughlin and one of those pleasant faced, nice voiced Canadian male actors.
Any additional comments?
There is no murder in this book, but merely some strange events that had some spooky potential, but wasn't developed enough for me and when we found out why (especially the seniors) it was disappointing (original though). The chupacabra was the best, but I'd read similar stories before. With almost no changes, I'd really market this towards the young and pre-teen market like an R.L. Stine.
I think audio format really benefited this novella length story and made it seem longer and fuller than the average novella.
