3.0 out of 5 starsOk, but sex scenes are overdone
Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2018
I read a few of Claire's novels because I love time travel books, especially anywhere in Scotland or UK. The books are simple romances with not much in the way of history or plot. Boy from the past meets girl from the future who is sent back in time by a witch. She chooses to stay in the past with him and live in more primitive times because they fall in lust. These books could be so much better if they didn't have page after page after page of explicit sex scenes, over and over again. Not that I object to a little bit but the sex is really overdone and gets boring and has nothing to do with the plot. Those wasted pages could be better used to develop the characters and plot. I hear she also writes the same "clean" books without the dragged out bedroom scenes I might try them.
5.0 out of 5 starsMAGIC IS ONCE AGAIN IN THE AIR!!

This is another Magical adventure that Bethany invites us to join as we meet 2 more of her enchanting couples as they come thru time to find a love far beyond their imagination. Can a modern day lass make it in a world centuries past? I would say odds are pretty good when she meets a handsome Scottish Lad,but they both have adjustments to make! You will love this series so make sure you read all books because they have a connection.Enjoy!!
I liked this story, but I am giving it only three stars because the author has a tendency to not explain certain things. I say "she has a tendency" because this happened in the first two books of this series also. Though they may be minor to the story plot I like behaivor to make sense, even in fantasy books. SPOILER ALERT!! First of all, why did Mitsey's husband Brian marry her if he already had a mistress, which was evident when caught cheating on her at their wedding. Mitsey's was not rich, she had no powerful family and he was not in love with her. The author never mentioned why he married her. Second, why did Mitsey's childhood sweetheart, Jeb, marry another woman when, as he confessed years later, that he was still in love with Mitsey's at the time he married? When Mitsey found out about Jeb's marriage why did he lie to her by saying he did not love her? The author never elaborates on this. Thirdly, why did Niall hate Baodhan? I do not ever remember the author giving a reason for that either. Lastly, the youngest brother was not a biological sibling, so where did he come from? This may not be important to other readers, but it is to me. If the author thought enough to include these matters in her story, then she should have thought enough to explain the reasons behind each.
I love this series. It is well written with lots of twists and turns. Mitzy’s unfortunate divorce to Brian who was a cheater from the day she married him allowed her to follow her friend to Morna’s house. She sent her to meet Bri but she added a little spice by adding Baodan’s presence in her entrance to her trip back in time. And the rest is history.
Finally Mitsy's story! I was hoping to see Mitsy again after we got to meet her. I love all of the characters that are introduced in each of the books. I feel connected to each of the characters.
I have read all of the books and then I was given the opportunity to listen to the audio version of the series. The audio book is well worth the money. I feel like I am in the story when listening. The narrator brings the story and characters to life. This is the best audio book for a road trip.
This might be my favorite of this series o far. I loved Mitsy. Such a fireball and knows exactly what she wants and how she feels.
After being cheated on by her new husband and getting divorced, she goes to Scotland to find her best friend Bri. Of course, she thought Bri was crazy, saying she lived in the 1600',s but Morna soon proved her wrong and sent her back as well! Of course, she meets a handsome Laird (duh), but something is amiss in the keep and soon you find that Niall, the brother, is a crazy psycho.
Book One was great, so was book two...and now there is book three! As usual, I loved Bethany's book. I am always in need of a good quick read and these books provide it for me....I have read the first book a couple of times now and I can't wait for the next one in the series. When I started reading this one, I said to myself that I would only read a little bit every day...but it was so interesting, I didn't put it down till I was done! Now I need to read it again! Keep the books coming Bethany Claire!

Book no five now or maybe i’ve i’ve lost count ! This is a tale again like the others of someone in the past meeting up with and falling in love with or initially lusting after donekmeone in the present ! Very repetitive storyline and very Americanised, some cringe worthy bits ! But what can I say in my defence ? I ‘be bought and read the previous ones and thry’re very easy bed time reading with a bit of Scottish atmosphere thrown in and you want to know what happens to the characters !!
