These two angels have been through a lot - in their human years and as chosen angels. They witnessed and experienced much. Pride and guilt gets in the way disguised as determination for Issa. It makes him deny the healing that he needs and the presence and comforting his wife needs for his quest of vengeance and to avenge her. Serwa is a double gifted angel with powers of life and death. Her barren womb and her absent husband takes a toll on her not to mention all of her trauma.
She answers prayers and brings healing, he desperately needs healing but doesn’t pray.

"Fire, Fury, Faith" by N. D. Jones

My Thoughts....

What a fantasy love story this was of Issa [who had been given a second chance at the life of an angel and a tribal chieftain] and Serwa as the reader finds them having come from warring tribes. What will Issa do when a rogue demon attacks and almost kills his wife? How will Serwa help and heal Issa as she is a 'Healer Angel?' Will Serwa finally be able to heal her husband and help him get over his fury?

This will be quite a intensed plot as well as steamy one about these angels. The author really gives the readers quite a journey that will whole your attention as you listen to this story. Yes, this was on audio and very well presented to the reader by this narrator as he gives life to these magical characters. Be ready for a good read with lots of 'emotional ramifications on its victims' along with 'warring tribes, angels and demons, dark and light, bond of love and the terror of hate.' Now to truly understand all that is going on you must pick up this good read to find out just what all is going on in this interesting read. This author really knows how to write and tell an engaging story .
that will definitely keep your attention.

Fire, Fury Faith

Fire, Fury, Faith is the first book I read by N.D. Jones. I was intrigued by the idea of a paranormal romance written with black characters.

We meet Issa and Serma, they are members of warring African tribes. Serma is the daughter of the chief and Issa is a warrior destined to be chief of his tribe. The two love each other fiercely but their fathers oppose them being together. The two hatch a plan but then there are a series of life-changing events.

I enjoyed how the author did not start the characters off as slaves. Thank you! I get that this was a novella so there was not a ton of backstory. We received most of the backstory in flashbacks. I was intrigued once the two lovers were fast-forwarded into the present day. Issa was a warrior and Guardian Angel and Serma was a Healer. The magnificent description of their physical and mythical characteristics had me envisioning their beauty.

The sex scenes between the two were HOT!!!! What I didn't enjoy was some of the long drawn out inner dialogue and endless descriptions of some moments in the story. I definitely would be willing to read more from this author.

An Awesome Storyline!

I love this series!!!! Each story takes you to the very edge....I do mean THE edge. I love that the characters truly know what they need and want in relationships and are willing to go through the fire with their love to get it. The steaminess and longing keep you engaged, as does the intrigue. This story and the series are absolutely phenomenal. They take you on a relatable journey, yet almost something that most of us would be denied in the real world. This is a story of lust and love and how the two work in a real relationship to make it what each person needs it to be for them and the relationship as a whole. The characters are relatable and could be your BFF or even you. Phenomenal storytelling that truly hits home!

Wonderful!!! Must Read/Listen!!!

I don’t listen to Audio Books all that much but I have listened to a few and I have to say this one is close to the top of my fav’s. There are two reasons: the writing and the narrator.

The writing is just amazing. The depth of characters and the almost magical descriptions of the environment is just absolutely fantastic!!! The narrator is also amazing. His voice, going from high pitched when in Serwa’s voice to deep and demanding when doing Issa’s voice made me wonder if there was more than one narrator.

Issa and Serwa have major “jobs” being one of the chosen angels is nothing to be taken lightly. Issa, a tribal chieftain, and Serwa, a Guardian Angel, serve to help humankind. The fact that they are soul mates in every sense of the word just serves to make the story even better. Issa is a protector is the strongest sense of the word. Serra just wants to be with him and do her job.

The author’s description of, well, really everything is just amazing. The way she describes their sex….just WOW!!!! It’s not dirty really….just highly magical. When she described the four mouths of Issa on her - OMG!!

The only issue I had with this book was the timing. From the very beginning it seemed hard to figure out where we are in time. It starts at the very beginning like a historical book. Then goes to modern day NYC to then talking about their marriage and kids that were never mentioned and only mentioned once or twice. He talks about his age being extremely old but there’s no point of reference in the marking of time. That was my only disconnect but it doesn’t distract from the story.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this audio book and I think you will to. Definitely one click and give this one a try. You won’t be sorry!!!
