Bella Andre is a MUST BUY author for me and she certainly did not disappoint with Tempt Me Like This. The story is that perfect mix of sweet, romantic, sexy, real. Seriously had me wishing for my very own Morrison boyfriend. :)
Drew Morrison is a rock star. Really. He’s a rock star. And he’s enjoyed it. He went to Stanford, then became a rock star. Now his band is going back out on tour, and this time he will have a tag-along. Ashley is trying to get into a graduate program at Stanford Business School, and needs to see the inner workings of a rock band on tour for her proposal. Drew has promised Ashley’s dad (one of his former professors) that he will return her untouched by the world of rock and roll. Sounds like a great plan, until Drew and Ashley actually meet. The sparks fly and their chemistry is off the charts. Drew tries to keep her off limits, but he’s not very successful. Things move really fast in the world of rock and roll, and they move really fast in this story, too. Jump on in and enjoy a behind the scenes look!
I liked this story, but I didn't love it like I thought I would. The first half of this book was great, but from the half-way point to the three-quarters point, it was nothing but one sex scene after another. Now I don't mind a good sex scene, but sometimes authors go overboard producing them.... thinking the readers enjoy them, and we do... but just not in excess like this was.
I loved that they had become friends and each others confidence first, before delving into a deeper relationship. It was extremely heartbreaking to experience his grief over his mother's passing and the creative block that followed. I liked that he was very down-to-earth and humble regarding his fame, and treated everyone around him, as well as his body guard and bandmates with respect.
I wasn't too sure about Ashley at first, but she quickly grew on me as time went by. She was smart, and not afraid to speak her mind when her friend was being harrassed. I like that, a lot! What I didn't like, was the way she waffled back and forth when it came to committing to Drew, or dealing with her father. How can one person be so strong and so outspoken one minute, then turn into a bumbling idiot the next? Just didn't make sense.
Ashley is off on an adventure with Drew Morrison the Rock Star. She is doing research to get into a Business College. Drew promised Ashley' s father, his old professor that he would keep her safe, but Drew' s heart may get in the way of that promise. Ashley can't believe that she is actually going on tour with Drew Morrison. She thought she would be hanging out with his crew but she is actually sharing the tour bus with Drew himself. She is starting to get to know the real Drew, not just the Rock Star. In a way they are both lost and eventually they are both there for each other.
I can always count on a great book with this author. Over the years, I've collected all the Sullivan family from San Francisco to Seattle and onto New York. Now I'm meeting the Morrisons and love each and every book. At first, I thought about this book being about a rock star but I couldn't resist the one-click purchase and started right in reading. It only took a couple chapters and I knew I would be reading all day and would not want to put it down. Drew and Ashley are depicted perfectly and I literally felt the way their ideas meshed in business while they fell in love. There are so many great things about this book and as always, this author shows the closeness of families and the meaning of trust. Thanks for a great read.
Tempt Me Like This was just the book I needed for my book hangover. It was a light NA contemporary romance filled with sweet moments. Drew was the cool but down to earth rock star we all like to imagine. Ashley was the not-so-nerdy beautiful smart girl we all want to be. Their attraction was instant and their chemistry hot.
I probably would have given Tempt Me Like This 5 stars if I hadn’t read Bella Andre’s other contemporary rock star romance, From This Moment On (The Sullivan’s #2). From This Moment On is my favorite Bella Andre novel and one of my favorite rock star romances. Tempt Me Like This was really good, but it just wasn’t From This Moment On amazing.
I would recommend Tempt Me Like This to NA readers who like a sweet rock star romance without a lot of drama. It is part of a series but can be read as a standalone.
This was a lovely story about two young adults who try to fight their attraction to each other. I love that they actually spoke about their attraction instead of being one of those stories where you hear their thoughts about the other, but then no one ever voices those thoughts and everyone ends up extremely confused. Feelings were clear but for reasons mentioned in the story, they couldn't act on those feelings. The romance was very well done, and I'd have to say it was both fast and a slow but steady build up. I loooved this story! So sweet and nothing so depressing it hurt the storyline. I'd definitely recommend it!
The Morrison's are a great family, and I'm really enjoying this series so far. Drew isn't the normal bad-boy, rock star, which I really appreciated. It was extremely heartbreaking to experience his grief over his mother's passing and the creative block that followed. I liked that he was very down-to-earth and humble regarding his fame. Ashley started out very closed off, despite her crush on Drew. She held tight to her belief that she wasn't good enough for him, and that there was no way they could be together. They had great chemistry though, and the forbidden element of their relationship added to the tension. Drew and Ashley had a lot of fun together, and I really enjoyed their friendship and romance. There are lots of great supporting characters in this story too. I look forward to Justin's story next.
