Seriously loved that this author tackled zombies and the apocalypse and she did it brilliantly. This book could be read as a stand alone even though you do cross paths and see some history with prior characters but in a way where I don't think you would feel like your missing anything. But the first book was great too so if you liked this one or like zombie - end of the world books or menage / unconventional relationships definitely read the first one asap. So much happens in this book not only do you have zombies and this new world to deal with but our heroine Roslyn end up a captive in a way. And the hottie hero, Nick has the brilliant idea to orchestrate this situation. And I can't blame him for how things turned out and in some ways his plans made sense as the safest and quickest but still maybe that should have been plan C or D lol. Anyway they face the struggles of their relationship as man & woman, captor and captive, experienced and inexperienced and they really all overlap. But during this time we see growth in them and their relationship and it all makes them stronger in the end. I liked that Nicky wasn't the perfect hero and he grew into his own to be better. While Roslyn goes from being reactive and naive to understanding this new world and where she fits. Because while she might have had her super emotional moments she was strong with a few surprising skills up her sleeve. This story is filled with suspense , action, zombies, love ( and some unique sexy times) all set on the backdrop of Australia and it is brillant! I seriously hope we get a few more stories with these characters and this world one day either new couples or I would even take a second book in either of these current couples. Something I wish would happen would be the self-sacrificing Captain Sean who had a heartbreaking moment in this book overcomes and lives. That maybe to save other he beat the odds and lives and will meet back up with this group of a different one and gets his own HEA. Really , ultimately I would just like more books in this series. Regardless this book and series are seriously good would absolutely recommend.

This is the second book in the Flesh Series. I gave the first, Flesh, four stars as well. I enjoyed this one just as much. Flesh was a ménage, but Skin is a dark romance. Nick buys Roslyn and chains her to the bed in the beginning. There is some nonconsensual kissing and touching but no rape. He didn’t want to keep her chained up forever and was hoping he wouldn’t have to resort to that, but she cracked his head open with a wine bottle as soon as he got her home. Watching these two sort out their differences was entertaining and often made me laugh.
Nick was not a bad guy. He was just in a bad situation and made some mistakes. He is an alpha male but not over the top. I liked that Roslyn was strong, didn’t give in to Nick right away, and had the guts to stand up to baddies. The sex scenes were hot. The action scenes were well written and paced without too much gore in the book overall.
Just like Flesh, the story grabbed me from the start. There isn’t too much backstory at the front. It is set in Australia, but if it wasn’t explicitly stated, I wouldn’t have known. There is no dialect speech, not a lot of “mate”s and such. Just a little flavor thrown in.
M/F, no cheating, no OW/OM drama, contains several graphic sex scenes, contains a bit of foul language and a good dose of violence, standalone, HFN.
Error count: 11. There are many comma splices (sentences with two independent clauses joined with a comma but not a conjunction). It happened so often that I have accepted this as style. I’m not a fan of the style, but that’s probably because my brain keeps yelling, “Error!” while I’m trying to enjoy the story. I do think it may add to the fast pacing.
Favorite Quotes: “He was a beast, an animal reeking of sweat and ready to pounce, rock hard and hurting. His hard-on gave Godzilla a run for its money. If he swung it about, Tokyo would be leveled.” “Men were such complicated creatures. Women were so much more straightforward.”
Really liked this book and the one before Flesh, you know you've read a good book when you keep thinking about it afterwards. This book had probably one of the most flawed hero's I've ever read a d possibly one of the most dysfunctional ways a man could win a woman's heart. The zombies were more gruesome than the first book actually stomach churning, and we meet up again with some of the great characters from flesh. Please write another book in this series need to know what happens next, and could the blond Viking Sean be still alive! Fingers crossed.

Loved this book from beginning to the very last page.... Wow if there is ever a zombie melt down and the end world type thing going down, man do I want to find myself stuck with the two main male characters !!!! It's got a great story, believable characters and is hot, hot, HOT... Read it you so won't be disappointed :-)
I read Flesh and loved it - so I thought why not Skin. It started out interestingly enough but after a few chapters I wanted to shoot Ros myself!! I would have been eternally grateful if I had a"friend" like NICK and would have stayed safe in the cabin. I enjoyed the ending - hopefully a 3rd book soon..
Kylie Scott is now one of my favourite authors. After loving the stage Drive series I thought I'd try more of her work. Zombie books aren't my typical genre but she didn't disappoint with Flesh and Skin was a great addition to the series!
From start to finish I couldn't put it down. Different from the normal girl meets boy, a nice change. I would defiantly recommend both flesh and skin to others would be great for another one to be released.
