5.0 out of 5 starsDon't Judge A Book By It's Cover

I really liked this short love story. It starts off like many other books. You have the hot & sexy jock and the cute, smart girl next door. I admit I'm like Joey. Like with her bias with a womanizing jock. He gets by on his looks and athletic skills. But that is not the case. He actually is smart and is looking for love but in all the wrong places. And Joey is shy and reluctant in love. Never opening up and worrying she'll be like her mom. Even the parents weren't what they seemed. I'm glad that all the characters grew up and learned to love. The only gripe I had was that it was too short and I wanted an epilogue. The end was quick and the story plot line is even quicker. Like at the party Ryan is making out with the blond bimbo and ends up with Joey by the end of the night. I'd like to know when he started falling in love with Joey. But I have to say I loved Ryan by the end of the book. With romantic re-do, also him knowing her love of photography, the beautiful way he proposed and the main reason is that he remained monogamous. He didn't look twice at the blond bimbo or the waitress. I liked him giving the note with the waitress's phone number and Joey tears it up. That was awesome! 😀
3.0 out of 5 starsNeeds editing, but still a decent read

Okay, this book was pretty good. There were a few reasons I couldn't give it a higher rating though.First, it wasn't edited well enough. Second, there were alot of instances were the book was referring to her but used the word him and vice versa. There were a couple of times that words simply were not finished and the story simply lacked any real depth. However, despite all that, I would say it is worth reading. I'd suggest reading it with Kindle Unlimited before attempting to buy it. This is the first time that I've read anythig from this author, but I'm curious about her other books. If you're expecting hot sex though, you'll be disappointed. This story focuses on love, not sex. I find that an interesting change. You should know that there isn't a confirmed pregnancy in this story. In fact, it's never even mentioned, despite the fact that one of the way it's labeled mentions a pregnany romance.
This is another very enjoyable audio book by Kathleen Hope. Joey's mom brought home yet her new husband and his stepson who attended the same college as Joey did. "Ryan was undeniable handsome, most popular narcissistic jock in school."
Attending a party together, they ended up in a locked room and they talked about their parents and college. "You are safe with me"
"He was breathtaking and I had never felt so close to anyone before."
This book was gifted by the Publisher for an honest review.
3.0 out of 5 starsRead the book instead of listening to it...

I got this book in audio. The story was good, but the person who read it had no pizazz. It was flat, some words she drags out for no apparent reason. When trying to play the other character it just seemed weird.. I think I would of rather have had read the book instead of listening to her. To many "he said" and "she said"
And I really enjoy audios and would keep listening to them, but not sure with her reading them
Wonderful book. This book was beautiful. Normally Stepbrother romances are gritty and a little gross, but this one was beautiful. I would recommend it to my friends definitely. I loved how at the end, everything was different, a real twist. The characters all grew up and became better people. 10/10
