3.0 out of 5 starsAn Interesting Read
Reviewed in the United States on September 27, 2018
Our Small Group decided to read and discuss this book over the summer. It was an interesting read, covering a number of controversial topics in the Christian church. We agreed with some of Colson's opinions and disagreed with others. The book is a collection of Colson's thoughts on various topics that remain issues in today's Christian churches; thus, it fit our group's requirement for an episodic book that can easily be picked up at any point. The book got us thinking and discussing and was valuable from that standpoint. I am not sure we'll read any other of Colson's books.
I have read every book written by the late Charles Colson. His take on the state of America's decline can be attributed to only one thing - our departure from the Judeo/Christian worldview. "My Final Word" reads almost as if Chuck is back speaking to those of us he mentored in the Centurion Program when he was alive. The books cast warning after warning about all that is wrong with America today. From Radical Islam to Political Correctness the book touches on it all. It is a must read as well as a wake up call. I will add this book to my Colson library.
5.0 out of 5 starsColson's World View in a Nutshell
Reviewed in the United States on November 5, 2015
Colson's previously unpublished notes and observations are categorized by the editor into several subject areas: Apologetics, Bioethics, Public Life, Church and Culture, Crime, Punishment, and Justice, Happiness, Homosexuality and the Church, Islam versus Christianity, Judicial Usurpation, Persecution, Suffering, and War of the Worldviews. Obviously, these are very timely topics written over the past ten years or so, but even more timely today in terms of what has happened. Colton perceptively saw how our culture was changing, and in most cases not for the good. The greater value of the book is that he explains and contrasts the new secular view with the orthodox Christian world view. Because of the categories of topics, it serves as a good reference book for understanding the Christian world and life view.
A compilation of Colson's articles which express his views on a variety of subjects of interest to Christ followers. His insights and views are timeless and compelling. This book reminds of Colson's enormous contribution to orthodoxy. Highly recommended!!!

I think this book could have a GOOD effect on churches and Christians today if we pay attention to the views expressed in this book. Chuck was right in his thinking, and so much is wrong in our world today.
