A beautifully written, informative, and validating book. So clearly written from the heart and from a ton of research and personal experience. Her relationship with her physician was particularly poignant as he cared for both the patient and the caregiver.
I found this book so helpful. The touching chronicle of the author's mother entwined with a common sense guide for those assuming the role of caregiver should be read by everyone. Ms Ciletti's straightforwardness and compassion shine through as she shares her journey. The information contained in the book would be helpful to all caregivers regardless of the involvement of Alzheimer's Disease. Just knowing you have somewhere to turn when things get rough or confusing can give you peace of mind. Easy to read and full of valuable information.
Incredibly spot on! As a caregiver, the book has validated and explained what I am feeling and experiencing! While the author is capable of providing great medical explanations, she explains so much in laymans terms.
Thoughtful and thought provoking writing. Interweaving of her own experience with facts and organizations to assist the reader with further research is excellent. I have seen two people go through Alzheimer's. While I was not the primary caregiver for either person, I am close to the people who were. This helped me grasp what the caregiver is going through from early symptoms through diagnosis to the very end. It also helped me understand how to support the caregiver, the person diagnosed with Alzheimer's, and the perspective of the medical community as well. I highly recommend this book.
