Book 4 of the series, this is Spence's story. We do see a few previous characters again, but basically, I think this can be read as a stand-alone story. The major focus of this story is Spence, Zoe, and her husband Keith. And as hotwifing/cuckold erotica, it surely delivers what it's supposed to-- erotic sex that's a little dirty and raunchy and very much not for the shy at heart. If you don't happen to enjoy hotwifing/cuckold erotica, then this story may not be for you.

Hotwifing is sanctioned cheating. Both parties agree to it, get off on it, and in Zoe's case, it's at the request of her husband. Completely Keith's idea, and she's been living out his fantasies for the past three years. They've been married for fifteen years; she's thirty-nine years old, and he's in his fifties. He's always had this fetish, but with ED causing marital issues, Keith can now only become (somewhat) stimulated if he knows Zoe's being used sexually by another man. He wants to see it, hear about it, and even taste and smell it. So enter Spence, the other man. But Spence doesn't want to be the other man; he wants to be the only man for Zoe. And what will her husband have to say about that?

There is definitely a love triangle feeling going on here, and I felt for Zoe most of all, torn between two men. Wanting to be true to one, desperate to connect to him, while at the same time, desperate to feed an empty place in her life/soul with deep desire, need and intimacy. I never judged her. Never judged any of them, really. They're all mature, consenting adults, knowing what they're getting into, but sometimes things happen, unexpected things, and the question is how to deal with it.

I thought this story was very erotic and titillating, showing both heat and desire as well as emotion. I do wish there had been just a bit more to the ending, just something more to reassure me maybe, but it does end with a feeling of love. Along with the kinky sex and dirty, sexy name-calling, which was really hot, JH delivered some gritty feelings, too. I not only got the erotic here, I also got feelings of doubt, confusion, angst, selfishness, and longing. A love triangle, or a marriage with a third party, is hard to work out, and this made for an interesting read.

This story is told in third-person, and we get each party's POV, even Keith's. We also see that JH has at least two more couples to write stories about in this series, which is exciting to learn. This whole series is different and kinky and would be appreciated by an erotica reader who enjoys the unusual, that dirty and well-written sex that goes beyond just the sex act itself. This author knows how to write bold, kinky, unblushing erotica; erotica that's dirty and juicy but with a touch of unconventional romance to it, as well.

Jasmine Haynes is my favorite grown-up erotica writer. She can write a an erotic scene with twists and turns the like of which other authors should be envious. Her heroes are my heroes, they are always amazing men who love with their whole heart and body. Halfway into any story by Jasmine Haynes and I am a squirming jealous mess, thinking I want a man like that, who loves me like that. This story was no exception. It was short but I did not like the way it ended. There was no reason for that. It was almost as if it started with too much steam and ended with a whispered hiss. I wish that the ending and Spence's time with his love when he finally found her would have been more extensive, that it was not, disappointed me and I give the book 3stars a for a lovely story with a poorly done ending.

I've read all four books so far and have loved them all. This one to me had a different feel to it than the others, probably because the people out of the other 3 books weren't mentioned as much and the main characters were new to us but don't let that put you off it is still a great book and could even be read as a stand alone. It was just as hot and steamy as the other books (if not more so) and even though it was full on hotwifing, it felt more of a love story. The only niggle I have is with the price, I paid around £2.50 for this book which I was not really happy doing and would never normally for a book so short but I love the west coast series, i'm not sure if I would spend that much again on the next one unless it was a full size novel.
