I like books that talk about religion in general and how the religious beliefs of one culture are similar to the beliefs of another. For instance, Jesse writes of Odin's love of war while comparing him to the Greek god, Zeus. This book is also a quick, and good, read.
As an avid fan of folklore and myth, I had hoped to really learn some rich and unusual information from a detailed book on Odin. Didn't happen, I'm afraid. It is short too. (I read it in Kindle format). Might work for someone who knows nothing about the subject, but the writing style is such that it wouldn't inspire further research. I believe the currently popular descriptive term would be -meh-.
