Must Read Suspense!

The Dare is a crazy erotic read. It reminded me of a Novella and lord have mercy it hooks you in and keeps you reading until the end and at the end you are looking for more because lord help me I hate cliff hangers but I loved this one because I was yelling WTH is going on here? Where is the next book? What is going to happen? Can you imagine being in her shoes? I mean there were like a million questions running through my head and I just could not wait for the second installment.

I kept thinking lord I don't know if I could do a threesome as a matter of fact I know I could not because I am selfish and what is mine is mine. I do not share whatsoever. So reading this I was like holy mother lover because she really considers doing it. Plus her current boyfriend is a creep for even asking her to do such a thing. The consequences from his desires is what this story is all about and man what an adventure it is.

You will not be able to put this book down. Will Katrina do the threesome? Will she give in to her secret desires? This is one serial series you have to read!

Not very romantic erotica

This is more erotica than romance. Katrina Winslow, a brilliant scientist (we are told, though she doesn't sound like one), meets her boyfriend, Evan, at a hotel bar and they play Truth or Dare. Evan dares her to take one of the men in the bar upstairs to have a threesome, and she takes him up on it. The rest is sex, and Evan is a jerk who breaks her heart just like every other man she's dated. There is a happy ending, however. The story made me sad for Katy, as she processes Evan's betrayal (and it's a biggie!) and thinks about all the guys who treated her like she was less than nothing. The hero (not Evan) seems to appreciate her, though, and the chemistry is off the charts between them. So there is lots more sex, and the promise of still more sex, and maybe even some true romance, in Tabke's Chronicles of Katrina sequels. The author's writing is fine, but there was just not enough substance or characterization here (though I believe Tabke tried to create some) for me to connect with any of the characters, and I don't plan to buy any of the sequels.

Green eyes and Kat his pet name for her have another encounter but trust issues caused it to end in a bad way and we are left wondering after a simple text what is going to happen next.

Although I'd heard of Karin Tabke, I'd never read any of her books. I saw The Dare (The Chronicles of Katrina One) on Amazon for Kindle at no charge and decided it was a good time to give her a try. Yowza! I wasn't sure what to expect, but this novella sucked me in immediately and I read it in less than two hours. It was hot, hot, hot! If there is such a thing as tasteful erotica, this is it. It was well-written and the characters believable. Being the first of a four-part series, the ending left me with the need to know what happens next. I just purchased Double Dare (The Chronicles of Katrina Two) to continue the story.

If you like hot you found it! whew, make sure you have a glass a water to cool down. First off one character in this book made want to smack him upside the head. Holy cow is Simon yummy. The description of him you can tell he is just one sexy hunk. Usually I prefer a book where you get both characters point of view, but I didn't notice until I was almost done with the novella. Katrina gets to live out a fantasy she thought she'd never get to experience, but with comes a turning point in her life. She has one hell of a night and I cringed right a long with her. The high point is her meeting of Simon.

This was a short, surprisingly well-thought-out novella involving a woman accepting a dare from her BF to approach a stranger in a bar for a menage. Predictably, her BF (who's pretty insecure to start with), is later upset she took the dare. I won't spoil the story, but this is an important component about threesomes, the second-thoughts, that aren't always explored. A good read, a cheesy and predictable cliffhanger- yet, an enjoyable story

I wasn't crazy about the way this started with her boyfriend daring her to invite a strange guy into their bed. But later the whole thing worked to make a story that I had to keep following.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who doesn't mind reading a serial novel and enjoys erotic romance. The heroine is believable and the hero is a great guy - not just sexy and alpha. He's also a decent human being and the characterization of the two main characters is what sucks you into this story.

The opening page to this book starts in the bedroom with Katy and her boyfriend Evan as well as green eyes, a stranger that Katy had picked up in the bar. At first I had doubts that this wasn’t the book for my tastes, though it intrigued me and I carried on reading and I am glad I did, as it wasn’t a messy love triangle that I first feared and a rather steamy beautiful story.

Katy (Katrina) is a shy scientist and works with her boyfriend Evan of 6 months, though as there is a no fraternizing with co-workers rule, their relationship is kept a secret.

During a conference trip, Evan dares Katy to take one of the cops in the bar up to her room. Not sure if he is serious or testing her loyalty or scared that if she says no that he will walk.

The events that follow after that night change everything and where broken hearts and doors close, new doors open.

The book is well written and I love the writing style of Karin, she has captured the narrative and katy’s POV and merged them effortlessly.

Katy is very likeable and so is Green eyes AKA Simon and I can’t wait to read more about them.

Only 8 chapters long, the book hooks you in and you will definitely buying the second book in this series.
