This novella filled in a couple of missing spaces. between Redwood Pack Books. In this book we find out what happened to those Central Wolves that managed to escape Caym and Corbin's evilness. We also once again experience the compassion and grace of the Redwood Pack. This novella also offers a chance to see how Maddox and Emilie are growing in their relationship and as a family with Charlotte. Kade is awesome as the Pack's Alpha. Edward and Pat would be proud of their children. I look forward to more from the Redwood Pack.
I love novellas that give a closer look at characters I have already met. This one was no different. Carrie Ann has brought us closer to Maddox and Ellie and showed us how much they love their adopted daughter Charlotte. I cannot wait to see what is next for the Redwood Pack.
I started this series in the middle somewhere, and I really cannot get enough. I now own, I think, the entire series and I have to go back and read them in order.
I loved this book the emotional exchange between Maddox and Ellie is palpable as is the love they have for each other and their adopted daughter, Charlotte.
In this book they are faced with different emotions brought forth by outside influences. First in trying to help a couple with the loss of their son, and later with the fear that their daughter had been kidnapped. The way they share through the mate bond shows how strong they can be when they help each other deal with the outside emotions.
A favorite passage:
"No one is in trouble. Well, you're going to be grounded a bit," Maddox said, and Charlotte wiggled between them.
Ellie met Maddox's gaze and nodded. "Yes, baby, grounded. You can't leave without telling an adult. A lot of people who might have been needed elsewhere were taken off their shifts to help find you. That's not saying it wasn't worth it because you know all of us would do it again to make sure you were safe."
"No TV or cookies for two weeks," Maddox answered. "You can play with your cousins because you're a wolf and you need the pup play, but only at our house during that time."
This was a quick read. It is a book that could be left out. The story is about Maddox, Ellie, and Charlotte (Ellie's sister/now daughter). Charlotte goes missing only to discover the past. That the Central pack still has a few members alive and they are not covered with the darkness that the demon did to all the other members. Kade the alpha of the Redwoods and Gideon the alpha of the Talons will help the pack rebuild, but it's up to the goddess on when that will happen.
Loved this book! Enjoyed the look into Maddox and Ellie after the war is over and life has somewhat calmed down. There are nightmares that they must work through. We also see Charlotte finally calling Ellie and Maddox, mom and dad. This gives way to some feelings of being unworthy and is something they need to work through together. Short, sexy, hot, frustrating, scary, this book as all of this in it. I received an audio copy of this for an honest review. I have read the entire Redwood Pack series several times and enjoyed the audio version as much as the book. There were parts that I laughed at when I heard it vs reading it. It worked!
I so appreciate an author who can make all the connections work. The Omega pair shows us the healing occurring within the packs but also leads us out into the future of the Redwoods, the Talons and maybe even others. Thank you for showing us the depth of Ellie and Maddox' s mating and the possibility of new destinies for all. A great little tidbit to hold us over until the next book!
Maddox and Elli have survived the war, but there are nightmares that must be lived with. This was a ncie visit with the pack after the war. Not only do the adults have to deal with the aftermath of the war, but so do the children. I think that Kade is going to make a good alpha, I liked how he delt with the remaining CentralsCarrie Ann Ryan keeps writing, I will keep reading.
I love Maddox, have since I met him early in the series. So glad he is getting his happily ever after. Ellie, no one deserves a happily ever after more than her. It is nice to touch base with the couples I have fallen in love with from this series. Can't say enough about the Redwood Pack, definitely an amazing group of hot, sexy, loyal and passionate werewolves. Love them!!
Maddox and Brie are mated and the war is over. But as with any war the survivors are traumatized while trying to bring normalcy back into the lives. Maddox and Brie are also dealing with being new parents. Their adopted daughter Charlotte was also a victim of the war. But what happens when the unthinkable happens to new parents. Find out when you read Loving the Omega.
