I had to write a research paper on borderline personality disorders and this book is just what the professor ordered. Richard Smith really does detail "Everything You Need to Know About Borderline Personality Disorder," but in a way that is easy to understand.
Smith begins this book with providing the history of this misunderstood disorder along with the causes of it. He continues by detailing the symptoms and how it can affect family life and life in the workplace. This book provides pertinent information such as:
- How to choose the right therapist
- Alternative methods of treatment
He also dedicates a whole chapter to BPD and suicide, which I find to be very helpful since some people do decide to take their own lives.
Great book for a student such as myself, or for anyone that is dealing with this disorder or may have a loved one suffering from this condition.
