I think it is more for older children. Some of the words that needed to be in the glossary were not.

D.S. Arnauld’s Elephantopia is an exciting journey with spunky, relatable characters. Unwitting hero, Caj, has the best of intentions but often stumbles into more trouble than he can handle. Mjok, his elephant, is loyal but extremely mischievous. And Chiku, Caj’s unlikely friend, is loud-mouthed and opinionated but genuine, kind, and fiercely brave. Together they overcome adversity and uncover a long-hidden treasure of knowledge. By their example, children will learn to empathize with all beings (human and animal), face challenges head on, place high value in education and understanding, and seek the true beauty in others despite possibly not-so-great first impressions. Young readers will be challenged by the vocabulary, but a glossary is conveniently provided. And, because of the creativity in the writing, there is also an opportunity for lessons in learning new words through context. Recommended for adolescents aged 9-14, but definitely enjoyable for all ages.
5.0 out of 5 starsAction-packed Adventure for Teens/Tweens

Elephantopia is the story of Caj, an earnest young boy who has a special bond with his mischievous elephant, Mjok. When Mjok releases three monkeys from their cages, Caj must recapture the monkeys or risk permanent banishment, and this sets off a chain of events that leads Caj and Mjok through many foreign lands and entangles them in a complex power struggle. Along the way, they meet strong-willed Chiku, who is brave with a tender heart. Together, Caj, Mjok, and Chiku face seemingly insurmountable challenges. Along the epic and spellbinding journey, Caj learns that riches come and go, but knowledge is forever. Author D. S. Arnauld has created memorable characters and seemlessly woven a tapestry of adventure and enlightenment that examines life's big questions. The story will appeal to young teens; the vocabulary will challenge and enrich younger readers, while keeping older teens engaged. Recommended reading level: 9 to 14 years.
Elephantopia tells the adventures of Caj and his elephant. The story is heartwarming and shows us the loyalty of elephants. For young readers, there is enough excitement to keep them engaged in the story. As well, the comprehensive glossary at the back is useful for readers who wish to improve their vocabulary or spelling.
5.0 out of 5 starsA great story for life lessons and fun

Elephantopia is a great page-turner with a big heart. The adventurous and interesting plot keep me wondering what is going to happen next and the pairing of main characters (a boy and an elephant) is a very well intended base of the novel. I think this is written mainly for children and adolescents but this story virtually applies to every age for reading, just like age doesn't matter for loving animals and enjoying adventures. This book has a great balance between life lessons and entertainment. Also, its glossary in the back would be helpful for younger readers. I am looking forward to reading Volume 2 for their next adventure.
Elephantopia is an intriguing story of a well intended young boy and his mischievous elephant. They have many exciting adventures which often lead them into trouble. The story teaches life lessons as you are entertained by the shenanigans of these two special friends and their faithful bond. Adolescent readers will enjoy this book and be enriched by the vocabulary.
