I did not read any reviews or plot synopsis before purchasing this book. From the title, I thought it might be some expose of Wall Street. Boy, was I surprised to find myself in the world of high fashion. Right on the first page was a terrible simile about tar, that sounded like something out of a 40's detective novel. I almost gave up on the book.
I am glad I hung with it because it was a fairly interesting read. I thought the bits on autism were touching and informative. I could care less about celebrity lives or high fashion, but I still found myself engrossed in the story. I think the authors were well qualified to speak about the industry and the situations seemed plausible. It is difficult to blend two voices into one, but they did a commendable job.
Spoiler: It was nice to have a main character with character, some morals and compassion. I still don't understand why they threw in the funeral bit. Slimmed down, the would have been even better.
