This is a good mystery. Entertaining to the last drop, with appropriate bits of humor tossed in. Easy reading. You’ll like it. Please read the rest of this review carefully!
But the good and the bad. We’ve read several of the “Café” series. We note that (if you read them in sequence), one picks up where the previous left off. Elements at the beginning of “Ice House” pick up from where the previous Café book ended. Yes, you’ll get to know the characters—Bud, the ex-Sheriff; Wilma Jean, his wife; Howie, the current Sheriff who keeps calling Bud for advice… and on, and on. After 6 of the Café series we’ve decided the plots (and characters?) *seem* a little formulaic.
So, while I would → very highly← recommend two or even three from the series (chosen and read strictly at random!) I would not recommend more. Okay?
