5.0 out of 5 stars That's it, I'm hooked! Fantasy lovers, here ye, here ye!

There is a possibility that I should have read Blast of Dragon's Fury to know what I was getting into. But I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. Because it follows a bit of a ghostly storyline, one where the dead are involved with those whom are still living, I definitely was hooked. Some of my most favorite YA reading involve points like this. For all you fantasy lovers, this is a great, quick read and you will definitely get a good laugh from it.

Not to give away too much, because some people don't like spoilers, this novella begins with the death of Imogenia, at the death of her brother, Kaysan. I suppose you could say he wanted something in particular, but Imogenia was in the way.

"Imogenia hovered above the slowly fading scene. Kaysan, her younger brother, stood looking at the still form lying on the floor. The corners of his mouth started to turn up in a smile and his eyes narrowed in contempt. Her brain whirled, struggling to put the pieces together."

Imogenia then is escorted to the terminal, where she may choose to rest in Peace Paradise or go to Hades for a tan, and everything else. Due to an almost-vow, Imogenia determined to make her brother pay for her death before she finally chooses to pass on to Peace Paradise. She is sent to the Waiting Area, after speaking her plans to make her brother miserable, she meets her mother. Imogenia's mother had passed on prior to her own death. Imagine seeing your mother after knowing her to have died.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute with chuckle-worthy moments...don't judge this book by its cover.

This isn't the normal genre that I read but the author asked me to read it. Since I was in between books and this was such a short read I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. The characters aren't really likable but I don't think you are supposed to like them. It definitely peaked my interest by not being predictable. I think adults might understand the humor and wit of the author more than a teen. The plot, style, and setting of this book seems to beckon a younger reader while adults would overlook this little gem. Maybe it's just the kid inside me that enjoyed this so much but I'd really hate for adults to miss this just because the cover art and description appear a little juvenile. Give it a try. It might just make you smile. Happy reading my fellow bookworms!

5.0 out of 5 stars The book starts with a ghost...

This is the prequel, but I haven't read the series yet!
The book starts with a ghost and follows her as she plans her revenge for her death. You are on the edge of your chair because you KNOW that hate, like revenge, hurts the one doing it the most. The ghost just doesn't seem to get it. She will make anyone suffer to make her killer suffer too.
I will be racing off to buy the next book in the series!

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!
***Received the ebook in exchange for an honest review

The cover definitely goes with the story though Book 3’s cover is still my favorite :)

Okay, I think this story clears up some of the confusion surrounding Imogenia’s curse & how Andy play’s into it. This is basically an expansion and more detail of the prologue.

It was nice to get these details and understand the background more.

I recommend this prequel to those who’ve read this series, you do not want to pass up reading this, and if you are new to the series, this is a great way to see if this story is for you though I think this series gets better and better, so keep this in mind :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting extra bit of information

Power of the Heir’s Passion is a novella/short story that expands on the first chapter in the first Andy Smithson book. It goes into detail about how Imogenia’s plan was approved and why after 500 years Andy’s role in the curse was created. It’s an interesting extra bit of information for people who enjoy the Andy Smithson series. I recommend reading it either before the first book or before the third book.

A little troubled by a 500 year curse but have been assured that all things come to those that wait.

This prelude sets the scene for why there is a 500 year curse and what "Andy Son of Smith" has to do with it. I enjoyed receiving this book for free here at Amazon and was surprised and delighted to discover that Book 1 was included!

I am enjoying reading this delightful series.

5.0 out of 5 stars How did the curse happen?

If you want to know how the whole story got started, grab this prequel. These books are not just for kids! I enjoy the light and "punny" way Ms. Lee writes and I'm a grandmother. Andy Smithson is a hero anyone can understand and appreciate. This reminded me of Piers Anthony's Magic of Xanth series--in a very good way. Get this one and start the adventure.
