How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

I wasn't exactly sure what to expect with this book. I only know I wanted more information a I learned how to narrate audiobooks for ACX. I read it over the course of three days and I found myself continually making notes to myself, bookmarking parts, searching the internet for various tools mentioned within, etc. Hanley writes in a very matter-of-fact manner that I resonated with.

I have already implemented several suggestions and as I was skimming today (which prompted me to leave this review!), I stumbled across a tidbit I had forgotten about.

What this book is NOT: it isn't the end-all, be-all of audio recording
What this book IS: it is definitely a useful tool that will help you get started in narrating audiobooks!

5.0 out of 5 stars Everything I needed to record, edit, and master my first audiobook

I honestly don't know what stage my own audiobook would be in if I didn't come across Kirk's guide. By the time I found this, I had already taken on the daunting task of recording the book from start to finish, but I was dreading the next step of actually listening to my own voice. (I've been told it's nice, but I'm still not a fan of listening to it.) Kirk's tips got me over my issues and motivated me to get the editing and mastering taken care of, and now it's out there on Audible. And the quality was strong enough that it's getting me more attention from other authors. Thanks so much, Kirk!

I'm new to this industry with some training and little experience, and while I'm not going to write my book just yet, this book has been a wealth of information. It has simplified the process required to be successful. I'm excited to continue.

This book really delivers. It is concise, highly informative and exactly what every first-time audio book narrator needs. I am so pleased with the explicit instructions for submitting an acceptable audio file to ACX, and the fantastic insights on using Audacity. Kirk Hanley is a great writer and narrator. I have devoured both the book and the audiobook.

I bought the audiobook first and then picked up the Kindle version. This book was short and concise but gave me some solid information on recording my own audio book. I picked up a lot of great ideas and some new tricks I hadn't heard before. If you are considering doing this on your own, you'll want to have a copy of this book in front of you.

I was so overwhelmed with the process of recording my audiobook, I barely knew how to begin. This book spells out everything you need to know (and thankfully leaves out everything you don't) clearly, concisely, and with a good deal of humor that alleviated my stress and got me excited about recording. Thank you, Kirk Hanley!
