This may or may not be "the future of fiction", but i cannot imagine a world without Jason Schwartz. For readers who require something more from literature...for those who like to let words echo long after they've been read...for those for whom LANGUAGE is not just the pallet but also the paint itself... your emotions are the canvas. Schwartz offers you every color known to man, and then some.
There isn't really an accurate category or "genre" in which this great writer easily falls. is it "experimental"? Ok, sure. is it "meta-fiction"?
perhaps. is it PROSE? oh yes. but the manner in which it all comes together....THAT happens in your head. the page is simply the launchpad. the sentences are the fuel. the SOUND of the words is what happens as the text reaches the upper atmosphere. but the explosion of reality happens when these extraordinary stories touch upon the outer orbit of your inner senses.
I can't honestly think of another writer working today who toils in similar fields. Gary Lutz and Christine Schutt come to mind, but Schwartz is as different from them as they are from each other.
If you love to read dangerously and you think there just might be something out there that's TRULY NEW and potent enough to illicit shock and awe in the reader, look here for an answer. It lies within these pages (and the pages of his one other published work, A GERMAN PICTURESQUE). Jason Schwartz is the real thing.
