This is the first book of the series I have read. I enjoyed the story of survival, but none of the relationships Carla had seemed rooted in reality. How many women would put off divorcing a guy who promised to stay with his family and let 12 years go by with infrequent phone calls and visits? The relationship she develops with Josh seemed balanced and then she magically falls instantly in love with a guy who carried her husband's wallet around, Then her daughter and Aaron's natural son just happen to discover each other in guitar classes. How does his addicted mother pay for them?
This series follows characters that fate mysteriously connects, but the situations just don't work naturally. Then the characters from one story are connected to the next story. I feel this series will not appeal to those who require their reading to make sense.
