WOW I loved this book. LOVED. So disappointed that a full novel, One Grave at a Time, was written around the Kramer ghost story line and this fascinating demon storyline was relegated to a novella!! This novella ended up being one of my favorite story arcs and had one of my favorite scenes in the series in it.
**Spoiler** That scene being when Cat had captured Bones and was flying away while he beat her up and then pulled a knife on her and almost killed her before turning it on himself instead. WOWZA what a powerful and heartbreaking scene.
This was such an engaging story because the "bad guys" that Cat and Ian had to fight were our own beloved characters. I can't beleive this was a novella and not one of the official full length Night Huntress novels--- plus that big reveal at the end!?!?! I loved how much Ian was in this book and am really looking forward to him getting his own book. And I LOVED how Cat and Ian were able to "reach" Bones so he could overcome his possession (which I totally didn't see coming btw). Also, I like how it was alluded to that the reason why Vlad wasn't there was because he wasn't answering their calls (as opposed to just totally being left out of this novella).
And because Cat and Bones had to be seperated in this way there love for each other was so filled with anguish and heartache...the tension and love was palpable.
I highly recommend you read this novella after One Grave at a Time! It's a must read for the series.
