A great read just before bedtime. Not meant to be very scary. I think even a five year old will enjoy this. And the best part is a little bit of learning. It tastefully changes the creepy image of a skeleton into an anatomy lesson for children. Wonderful!
A sweet Halloween treat. A fresh way to look at that ubiquitous Halloween decoration -- the skeleton. Delightfully whimsical illustrations perfectly capture the warmth of the little girl and her loving father's dialogue, told in pleasing rhyme. Perfect to share with your little one at Halloween -- or anytime.
5.0 out of 5 starsCharming Halloween Story for Kids

Very clever, charming, rhyming story of a girl who loves Halloween but is frightened by the skeleton her father brings home to add to the decorations. Smart dad that he is, he helps his daughter learn that she has her own skeleton right inside, thus calming her fears and letting her find the fun in the skeleton decoration. The artwork is especially delightful. Highly recommended!
"The Skeleton Inside Me" is so adorably cute. I want my grandchildren to hear this. It's perfect! My daughter is taking nursing and this would be fun. This would also be great for children who go out trick or treating for Halloween and end up at that scary house where they may be frightened which indeed happened to my children when they were little. I love it!
Gigi Shane has a wonderful voice for this children's story.
The idea of linking a "scary" skeleton for Halloween to a child's own bones is fun and makes for a teachable moment. Great for children to help make skeletons less scary. I think teachers, parents, and kids will enjoy this book. Excellent!
