Good grief. I liked the first book. It held my attention and I liked the characters. It was followed up by this mess. I couldn't even finish it. I almost ALWAYS finish books, but I have too may books in my TBR pile to suffer through this pain. Read the first book and use your imagination to conjure an ending. It'll be better than this.
This book is almost as compelling as the first one. Did I like the ending of Eureka's story? Yes and no. I thought the ending did her poetic justice, but the selfish part of me just wanted the Disney version. I loved that the authoress did not leave out any gruesome details, and I enjoyed the grotesque beauty of Eureka. The plot was unpredictable, and that's one of the reasons it was such a good book.
I absolutely hated this book. If I could get my money back I would. The plot developed dreadfully, the carnage almost laughably outrageous and the ending was depressing. I am a seasoned and avid reader and well versed in YA fantasy fiction. I believe this was one of the worst I have read in this genre this far. I realise some readers loved this, but I think it's worth noting to others out there too lower your expectations before beginning to avoid disappointment.
